Will my license get suspended?

Cross-posted from another category.

Here are the details ;

I'm 17, and was pulled over for speeding the other night - it was my first ticket.

I was going 96 in a 55(and honestly, I'm not pissed off at the officer for giving me a citation - considering the speed.)

Despite my initial stupidity, everything else was in order(insurance, registration, etc, etc)

I am supposed to mail in the citation and enter a guilty or not guilty plea(obviously, I'm going to just plead guilty).

The state is PA, as of now, there are no points on my license, and the officer only said that if I didn't mail in the citation form my license would be suspended.

I'm wondering if anyone can guess the likely outcome of this situation? If my license will be suspended, how long, suggestions as to what I can do from here? Thanks in advance!

Update:

thanks =)

and william z it was a little over 200 dollars - expensive, but not nearly close to 500..

Update 2:

I am pleading not guilty - I may be mildly stupid, but I'm not that much of an idiot.

Update 3:

I mean GUILTY, I'm pleading GUILTY haha - he got me with a radar, and there's no denying it, anyway.

    You're doing right by pleading guilty. Odds are with your first offense you'll be fined, warned - the end.

    However, keep in mind your speed is considered -per law- a danger to society. So anything is possible. *IF* you do lose your license, it shouldn't be more than 3-6 months. But the likelyhood of that is low. Impossible? No. But very low yes.

    Just mail in the plea, pay your fine, and obey all street laws in the future.

    First tell what state your in- besides state of bewilderment. tell why license is suspended- greater dashing or a inebriated driving-- diference is greater dashing gets you greater fines and short revocation on a similar time as inebriated driving in Wisconsin and a few different states will exchange right into a bond forfeiture provision - no violations- and reformatory time outcomes with minimum hazard of hassle license. in case you have a seperate motorbike enable from license and state tracks seperate violations you have some fines and suspension of motorbike enable- Ohio could supply you hassle motorbike license, Colorada could provide help to experience a Moped/below 50cc scooter without license- common for drunks with revoked license. to stay out of reformatory?- examine interior reach rules and get out pedal bicycle for following few months or take a bus, get some money for fines waiting..

    41 mph over the limit? Fine could be several hundred $$$ like $500 or more. There will probably be 3 points on your license , plus community service in lieu of suspension.

    I'm happy for you that the fine was only $200. I've seen fines go as high as $500 for a lower speed than yours.
