How do I give medicine to a cat?
I have to give my cat an eyedropper of medicine twice a day. He does not like this medicine. He is a large cat and has been declawed on his front paws. I have tried to hold him in my left arm and administer the meds with my right but get more meds on the floor than in him. Any suggestions? He will not eat wet food, dry only.

Pilling or administering liquid meds to a cat is a real feat of agility.
First, get your meds all ready, measured and set out. Get yourself a large towel and steel your nerves. :)
You are going to wrap your cat up, not unlike a taco. Start by going around his neck, then go over his front paws and then around his back and over his hind legs. You want this wrap to be snug enough that he doesn't fee like he has a chance in heck of getting out, but not so snug that you hurt him.
Now that he is bundled, you will sort of straddle him, but not put your weight down on him. There is a "pocket" of space between his teeth in back and the skin of his cheek - Stick your middle finger there giving yourself an easy in. With your other hand, slide the syringe into the pocket next to your finger. Slowly squeeze the medicine in. Keeping your finger there will keep the cat from being able to spit it out as well as help anchor your other hand from coming out and squirting all over. Being pretty much imobilized by the towel, he won't be able to get away.
Good luck!

Pick him up, but keep his head steady, and just pop the eyedropper into the side of his mouth, and be fast about the meds, but not if it's in a large quantity or you might get it in his lungs.
I watched my vet do the deworming etc, last time I took the kitten in, and wow, it works, but the head needs to be steady.
Remember to alternate sides, and to also play with him and hold his head in-between so he doesn't get head-shy.

Try scruffing him and putting the liquid in the side of his mouth.
