When did your child learn to walk?
My 11 month old just recently started walking and I was just curious when everyone's child learned to walk? My friend has a 19 month old daughter that still isn't walking and she was concerned that it was abnormal.
My friend's baby was about a month premature, however, that would still put her at 18mos developmentally. She has scheduled an appt. at the Dr. for Monday. She is far from overweight. She's a Skinny Minnie LOL!

My son didn't learn to walk until he was 2 years old. He has autism and epilepsy and those caused him some developmental delays. He worked with a physical therapist for about a year.

My daughter started at 13 months, but my sister didn't walk till 19 months and she was fine. When did the parents walk? Often if the parents were late walkers the child might be. I would still ask the Dr.

All children learn at their own pace; however, I would be concerned about a 19 month who is not yet taking steps. There could be an orthopedic problem preventing proper balance or is there a weight problem? I suggest your friend have her child screened for anything which can be holding her child back just in case something can be done to prevent a long term complication.
Good luck and God bless each of you.

My son was take a few steps around a year and was full blown walking about a month later at 13 months. 19 months is a little late to not be walking...I would tell your friend that she should let her daughter's doctor know that her daughter isn't walking. She might just be delayed a little. I don't know if she was a preemie or not but milestones are often delayed for preemies. I would see what her doctor thinks of this.

My son took his first steps when he was 11 months old.
About your friend's kid, premature babies tend to take longer to walk and talk.
It's normal but, I would still talk to the DR.

Our little man was 10 months when he started shaky walking, from the couch to the window, then by 12 months he was walking pretty well.
19 months is really delayed, has she taken her in to be checked?

between 6 and 18 months (that i be attentive to of). My eldest replaced into an extremely early walker (6 months), something have been extra 'familiar' of their milestones. All can run...however the back the youngest are 3...

My daughter started at 9 1/2 months.. But most kids dont start until about a year. Has your friend talk to her pedi..? There may not be something wrong, but it might be good just to get it chaecked, but I am sure she will when she is ready.
