Babies have thought without knowledge, and so did early man. I think thought is required to gain knowledge, but not the other way around. Although through thinking, knowledge is gained automatically.

    Does instinct count as knowledge?

"I'm hungry." In order to think these WORDS I'd need knowledge of the language, but to feel hunger and seek food is instinctual. Knowledge of where the food is, or if it's poisonous, rotten, ripe, or edible? That's intertwined with instinct too. I'm sure if there were no signs that read "RESTAURANT" in flashing neon letters, we'd still be able to find food albeit, with more difficulty considering our hunter/gatherer skills might be a bit rusty.

Thought is just the process of moving from a mental state of doubt to a mental state of belief. No "knowledge" necessarily involved.

Yes, sure. Of course, there can be thought without knowledge.

I will say that knowledge help to form good, and correct thoughts.

    Example:

Many people think that lesbians and gays are correct concerning to their behavior, and even themself, lesbians and gays. But because they do not have any knowledge of the real truth, spiritual truth of God, His will and commandments, their thoughts guide them to do their own will without knowing that they are doing the incorrect in the eyes of God.

They do not know that God want to guide them, change their behavior, clean them from sin, change their life, their way of thinking, for them to live a better life, to know wrong from right in Christ, and to let them know that they can live a better life in Christ, why? because Jesus Christ gives spiritual life to our spirit, saving us from hell. This is a truth whether they, and others like it or not, or believe it or not.

Why? Because it is one more sin in the eye of God, and in His law. But because they do not know, or want to know it, they will be slave from sin until they decide to come to Jesus Christ, like many others have done already, and be set free. An eternal freedon, joy, peace and happiness come only through Jesus Christ. I know it by experience.

In the mean time, their mind is without the light of Christ, (the light is the truth of His word), and for many other reasons concerning the truth, their way of thinking make them to believe that they are correct and do not care about correcting themself. They do not know that the Lord Father God, can separate them from sin, washing their sin through the blood of His Son Jesus Crist and will save them. God loves them but do not love their sin. Only Jesus Christ can separate them from sin. That is why the church (true cristians) can not acept it because christians are call to obey God because the word of God have being revelated to the church of God.

"But whenever anyone turns to the Lord the veil is taken away (the veil is like a cover of ignorance). Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.' (2 Corintios 3:16-17).

"Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourself to every's conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Corinthians 4:2_4).

I am sorry is some one gets offended but this is a true example.

    God bless you.
