How do you wire together a 16 ohm and 8 ohm speaker in a guitar combo.?
I have a 16 and 8 ohm speaker that I want to put in a combo amp which has a selectable ohm output of 4, 8, and 16. How would I wire these speakers, if I do so parallel, they will come out at 12 OHM and if I wire them in series they will come out at 24 Ohms. Can I wire them at 12 ohm and just use the 16 ohm setting or will that destroy the speaker? Thanks!

i think you should be worrying more about your amp rather than your speakers in this scenario. to play safe, you can connect your speakers parallel and use the 4 or 8 ohm setting of your amp. remember, speaker impedance should not be lower than the amp impedance.

You can't wire it at 12 ohm and run the amp at 16 ohm. You can blow your amp. Put the amp on the 8 ohm setting and you will be fine.
