If walls could talk, what would your childhood bedroom say about your music taste?

Q2: What would it say about your dance moves?

BQ: Do you think your sound system (stereo, ipod, whatever you play your music out of) likes the music you make it play? Or is it just a job to them?

BQ2: Song Lyrics that use personification?

Update:

migh-- i do believe that's the first time i've seen anyone mention Vixen in here...i didn't realize they had any fans! lol

Well, my childhood bedroom was turquoise with tropical fish decals. Perhaps it indicated that I would one day like Bob Marley? But technically I'm still a child (not 18 for another 2 months) and my bedroom is bright lime green. Like, radioactive. And it's got a wide white stripe across the middle-topish. I think it suits my fairly odd taste in music well, as Gogol Bordello is now my favorite band.

A2. The walls think I'm sexy when I dance in my undies.

BA: It's impossible to not love my fun, happy, crazy, drunken music. Seriously. It makes everybody with a decent taste in music just want to get up and dance like mad.

BA2: Urgh I don't know. I'd have to look through my library. I generally listen the the note transitions of music more than lyrics, given that most of my favorite songs aren't in a language I can even begin to understand. And it's getting a wee bit late here, so I suppose I'll pass on this question. Forgive me.

EDIT: Actually, I take that back. "To the Dogs or Whoever" by Josh Ritter just came on shuffle, and it's chock full of personification, hyperboles, metaphors, etc. So I'm just going to post links to the song and all of the lyrics. Way easier lol.

The song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mZpMeEBRic (it ends at 3:06... not sure why there's all that extra space)

Excellent Question.... BTW! As a child it was all about what my Dad listened to - really old stuff like Andy Williams songs. I remember dancing around the house, being very silly. He was and always will be my mentor. He also liked anything from the 60's as long as it wasn't too loud and had some meaning (figure that one out) LOL So I guess my childhood bedroom would reflect some of the music my Father and I shared an affection for and also the ones that reflected my rebellious times. But hey - he was the one person in my life that enjoyed music in our home as much as I did.

Well Since My House Was Made Around the 40's it would probably say That I have awesome Musical taste haha.

Q2: "Why Don't You Dance Ever?"

BQ: Well Sometimes I Hear Them Screaming But Mostly They Stay Quiet and let the music play.

BQ2: "And The Forest Will Echo With Laughter"- Stairway to Heaven?

  • LOL - my walls would be screaming for mercy from all of the loud Hendrix and Zeppelin it had to listen to.

Q2 - I am a decent dancer but not great.

BQ - I play a wide fariety of music - mostly Classic Rock , but Blues, Jazz, Country, Modern Rock, R&B, Soul and Classical have gone through those speakers.

BQ2 - "There Goes my Life" - Kenny Chesney

The first and only rock poster I had up in my teenage room was the one with Jimi Hendrix with his finger in his mouth.... it didn't stay up long ~ Mom made me take it down! lol

But what would it say about my taste in music? Ahead of my time and trying to grow up too fast I guess.

And oh, my dance moves are awesome :-D
