I used FRONTLINE Sunday. Today is Wednesday. Can I use a flea collar now?

Would it hurt the kitty or is it a waste of time and money? I hear flea collars dont work. I hear frontline does not repel fleas. I hear u cant use more frontline until a month is over. So what do i do. I still have fleas. I washed everything in the house day after day after day. I steam cleaned everything and still the fleas are all over my kitty.

What do should i do?

Well - flea collars should never be used i personally think they irritate the cats skin "and some can burn their skin" so they should never be used -> i would never allow my mom to put one on a cat.

In Conclusion to that - flea collars do more BAD then good, and the collars don't even work what a scam right?

Have you tried flea bombing your house? or calling an exterminator the frontline might not be helping you and you might have to try revolution which ive heard is a very good product and some people think its a lot better then frontline, and people say advantage is better then frontline - so either try advantage or revolution its up to you but i would try revolution first.

PS: frontline can be re-applied every 4 weeks, please don't re-apply this product before this time it could hurt your cat! "if your switching its best to wait a full month"

Another option is washing your cat "giving it a bath" it will get rid of the fleas - water get rid of fleas but the problem is will you come out a live.. but thats not the only thing you can get a rag and make it damp and just wash over your kitty so it doesn't claw you.

By the way if you try another product do not use Hartz or Bio spot , or any OTC medicine you might already know that but im just making sure =]

    Hope this helps

    Best of luck

Never use a flea collar they do not work for fleas they are too weak. They also are very dangerous, the percentage of any type of collars is really high for strangling and trapping cats...

It can also cause skin problems etc...

Also frontline is not good either, anything u can get for fleas in petshops etc are too weak that's why there aloud to be sold behind counter.

I recommend advantage or stronghold. I use stronghold for my 5 cats and my dog.

It kills fleas, ticks and prevents them from getting round worms.

It don't cover all worms so a dewormer is still needed.

Also hoover your house completely and like carpets, sofa's ect and dump the bag outside. So it is out of the house. Use flea spray on the things the cat goes most, sofa, cat bed etc...

    It really works for me...

You should have given him a few baths, used a flea comb and tired to get a lot of the fleas off before treating him with the Frontline.

You should have prepared before treatment, vacuumed more than normal and cleaned, bathed the kitty and then the Frontline. Flea collars are not safe for kittens. You can still bathe your kitten, to get more fleas off since frontline is waterproof. Dawn dish detergent kills fleas, you can bathe him with some, while soaping him up, use flea comb to get more fleas off.

    Good Luck

Did you try the Raid Flea Bomb? Set it off and leave the house for a couple of hours, this should help rid your home of them also.

Source(s): Had same problem with my cat, he was so infested that the fleas would have killed him. I did all the above to rid my kitten of fleas, once I put the Frontline on him, I had no more flea issues. They were so bad at my home they were biting me.

DO NOT use Frontline and flea collar at same time. Only use Frontline or Advantage. Collars don't work.

No they're full of posions so double dose in few days can be harmful. Instead, why don't you give him a bath with Dawn? Fleas will fall off and drown. Don't forget to sprinkle Borax on carpet and vacuum all over the house and clean your home until it's pristine to get rid of them for good.

It will hurt your cat by burning the skin.. and most of them are allergic. NEVER use Hartz brand or Sergent's Gold(Both bought from stores or walmart) because it is killing many cats from seizures. You see.... the chemicals used in the flea collars has a chemical used in the bug spray to kill bugs.. SO if you're cat EVER licks that.. it can die.

Give kitty a good long soapy bath, but not a flea bath! Regular soap and water will kill fleas. Be careful with the poisons.

Here is a good site to do some research.
