When to use vitamin e oil on injuries?
MY roommate was bitten on the face very badly and got stitches on her lip and cheek and nose. When should she start using vitamin e oil to reduce scarring? Can she start right away or should she wait until the stitches have been removed ?

I would put antibiotic ointment on for first 3 days until the wounds start to close then use both antibiotic ointment and vit E. If the wounds get at all infected there will be scaring even if she uses the vit E so avoiding infection is the main way to keep from scarring. Her Dr. should of told her how to keep away infection and how to tell if an infection is occurring. If not call his office in the morning or look it up on Web MD.
