Does anyone have experience working with patients who have had a frontal brain injury?

How do you deal with the insults and general uncooperativeness is such a patient's care?

I have... It's a tough job. But you have to keep reminding yourself that they truly don't mean what they say. They have experienced brain trauma and it's beyond their control. (...take a LOT of deep breaths) :0) Best wishes!

If you are on a unit, ask the unit supervisor/head nurse what strategies work will. Do some reading on dealing with head trauma/TBI cases. Take a course or two on dealing with TBI cases. Remember they are not all there. Your kindness will be appreciated. Ignore the insults, it's part of the job to ignore it. Been there, done that. Good luck. You can do it!
