Christians, How close do you believe you are to God at this time in your life?
If you have distanced yourself, what do you believe are the factors that have caused the distance or visa-versa. If you have a closer relationshp with God , what do you feel are the circumstances or tools you used to accomplish that?
Stuart: you noted: (Hmmm lack of faith. He never talks, never shows he is there people can say they 'feel' him but that is only due to their own subconcious mind subjectively making them 'feel' that something is there in order to 'reinforce' their own belief systems that what they believe in, is actually real. No...scientists have proven that believing in a God increases faith in yourself and makes you a better person internally, so for that reason it is good.
I think another reason why I became 'distant' from God is because as I became more practical and logical I did not see the logic in making humans placing them in a globe and then 'looking over them' to see who has more faith so they can enter into my kingdom...sounds abit like a 9 yr old with a new toy. Sorry God, you're too insecure for me...
Brother! you're only fooling yourself if you think God is insure. What you showed us here is only YOUR insecurities.
The God I know and love proveded much in my life and remains!

Any one who believes that they are close to God is likely far from Him.
As For me ? I would rather not air out my dirty laundry here in this rat infested Place.
The Christian Walk is among many things a Spiritual Warfare, One that we are all in, we have our ups and downs in it, we all do.
Now we don't have to win this war, Christ has already done that for us, But we must finish it, Paul never said he won the race or the fight, But he did keep the faith and he Finished the race and the fight.
Right now, I am going through a Particular nasty form of spiritual Warfare.

The human mind is a very complex machine that can adapt and 'model' itself around whatever you want to believe in. Do I disagree with god worship? No...scientists have proven that believing in a God increases faith in yourself and makes you a better person internally, so for that reason it is good.

Very close. If I become distance it is only because I am going through something I don't understand, but then I have learned to leave it at the cross and walk away. Each of the things I go through brings me closer to God, strength, trust and faith in God are my tools, and thus far all has help me through and to remain strong and to have a close relationship with God.

faith often gives people hope and a reason to live, and positivity. In many religions, tied into this faith is a belief system which contradicts what science tells us about the world, based on huge amounts of evidence. People would rather maintain that science is wrong, because they (falsely) believe that if they reject the ideas about God or creation, that hope, happiness and their morality will also disappear. However, I think it is also useful to understand that, even though there may be a huge weight of evidence behind certain arguments, we are just human beings with an evolved brain, so our view of reality is to some extent constrained by evolution of this brain and how we (subjectively) think about the world. Indeed, its better to be humble and accept that some people have beliefs, not because they think its true, but because these beliefs help them. So, pretty much I agree with you... :D

Closer then I've ever been but not close enough. Being in the Word everyday has changed my relationship with God from day one. Until then God always felt distant, and at times non existent. But, once I discovered how that changed with His Word, then I can never seem to get enough. Now it's prayer and the Word that keeps me close to Him. The word truly lives in me, and the more I share that with others the more He reveals Himself to me. The circumstances were simply the desire to do more then just exist. There comes a time in life when you either say there has to be something more, this can't be all there is to life, or you just give up and exist until you die. If and when you really want the answer He is there waiting to show you what life is about, and why. I can tell you about the love and sacrifice, but can not do it justice. Until you experience it for yourself, my feeble attempts fall way short of reality. He who is forgiven little loves little. Forgiveness is ours, and with it a love undefinable.

I've grown closer to God. I spent some time in search of what I wanted to believe... didn't go to church for 2 years because i wasn't sure what I believed. In the end I realized what I was missing was God's love and my love for others. Since that time I've had a number of trials and it has all worked to make my faith stronger. I now know what I believe and practice it daily ( though I do have the occasional slip-up)

Hi Larry...My relationship is so much closer now than it was 4years ago. My husband and I sold our house at the top of the market because we were not good stewards of Gods money. Why? Who know..not me. At the same time we bought a lot down the street and built..at the top of the market building. Ugh. But...here is the punch line, we had to live in our trailer, like little house on the prairie, no water, no electricity, We had an out house{Mobile} and every thing we did to exist was done together. Collect water, use generator, wait for the potty man, wash dishes out side in a bucket etc. Etc. and did this for 1400 months. You would be surprised how much time you have when there is no TV or distractions worldly. I got close to God out there in the prairie cause that is where He wanted me so we could get close and, we did. When we finally got into this house Satan came to attack with all fiery darts and I had to pray every minute to keep my sanity and move forth in My relationship with Christ and, God helped me all the way.Did the fiery attacks end..NO, but I recognize them more and God and I together, His power, my faith as it grew in the Holy Spirit and my choice not to give up, no matter what, not even to death would I sin deliberately. I am a sinner no doubt but in somethings, I can make the choice myself not to sin.. Thankful to God, He kept me alive to get to this place in life to share with you on R&S my experiences with my walk with HIM. We have been in this nice house for 3 1/2 years or so, no T.V., no music to drown out the quiet voice of my Lord, No company to chit-chat about nothings in life, that have no value, Just my husband who works hard ,my dogs and my Lord. Sometimes I feel like John the Baptist but this will never be, for I am a female and I could never think like a man. My loss. I know the chain of Authority and this one was a big one to learn. My Walk continues. Thank you for your question..Love in Christ always..missleslie

I have been a Christian for 45 years, but until I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma I didn't know how close I could be with God. With prayer and my faith in God I am now cancer free! I give God all the glory. When your up on that mountain you feel closeness with Him, but it's when your down in that valley your faith is put to the test. He's always there for us but I think sometimes we forget just how close He is until we need Him.

This word of God's grace that i'm about to share is believed on and is realized in my conscience, by the Spirit of grace: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory, .. and has made Him the head over all things to the church which is His Body the fullness of Him, that fills all in all, Colossians 1: 27, Ephesians1: 22-23
As Christ is, so am i in the world; He has apprehended me and i have apprehended Him. He that sancifies, and they who are sanctified are one, Hebrews 2: 11

Prayer and praise are needed by me, as I feel like a babe in Christ, even though I know what a mature Christian knows. Being attacked on every side gets to me some, but I will always repent when needed, and humble myself to God.
