Generally speaking, what is average gas mileage?

Could someone tell me what is the range of average gas mileage? I will be starting to look for cars soon, and I'm not too stressed on the best of the best in terms of efficiency. I would just like to know the average gas mileage. Thanks!

    for a car averaged from compacts to super cars i would think about 25 is the average, and about 20 for trucks

    anything over 30 is good for a car, and for a small car over 25 is bearable.

    obviously more is better although, i personally like the diesel jettas for their mileage, and they are quite a bit more car for the money compared to your average hybrid

    compact will usually get you upwards of 25 mpg. super small cars will get you 30-35+. trucks will give you under 20 mpg

    20 is about average.
