Random Hockey Question...?
My brother got a job at A&L.
Yes, the car place that had the commercial with Max Talbot doing his famous Super Bad line....
& of course the Penguins go to get their cars done there.. And my brother was told that they tip generously.
My question is: What hockey player, from any team, could you see snubbing people (whether a waitress, car detailer, etc etc) out of money they deserve for a tip?
Stupid question, I know!

The only example that comes to mind might be a player that is new to North America and is unfamiliar with the customs of tipping. I won't go into names since it does seem a bit unfair to accuse.
I would hope that said player's agent might spend some time on things like this (or they could buy a copy of Lonely Planet or a Rough Guide), but we digress.
As noted by an earlier answerer, for 99.99% of the NFL, this would not be a valid excuse given their familiarity with North American customs.

I'd be surprised if there were more than a dozen players in the NHL who would do such a thing. I know of many NFL'ers who have very little in the way of social graces. Some of them are just lowlife's.

Whoa... definitely not Sean Avery, he actually is a very down to earth person and is very friendly off the ice.
But I have to say Patrick Kane. After the incident with him going to jail for punching a cabby for not having 20 cents change to give him I lost all respect for him and could see him doing it again.

Keith Tkachuk. I just don't like him.
Derian Hatcher is actually very nice in "real" life. We met him and his bro, Kevin, and a couple of their buddies in a bar once and they bought us a beer and gave us autographs. They were very cool.

Avery would insult your choice in shoes, and then neglect to tip

Sean Avery, of course.
Derian Hatcher. Yes, I know he's retired, he's still a bum.
