How many calories does your body burn a day with normal activities? (no working out)?

Read an article about this guy whos a golfer and eats only 500 or so calories a day...made me wonder how many calories an everyday persons body just naturally burns off.

It's called the Basal Metabolic Rate. It depends on the gender, age, weight and height but roughly it's between 1100 and 2000 cal/day.

Most of it used to power the digestive system and the brain.

I only published this to a diverse females question, i'm hoping you dont recommendations me making use of it lower back! it is in accordance with recommended intake for an person female: 3500 cals = 1lb in case you decrease your calorie intake from the recommended 2000 to declare 1500, and do excercise, you will burn off 500 cals from the decreased foodstuff intake ( your physique needs 2000 an afternoon to function, so in case you're taking it right down to 1500 it gets the 5 hundred distinction out of your fat ingredients) you will loose a million-2lbs a week this form, and that's usually desperate that this is the main secure volume to lose in a week. If somebody is stupid and takes their cal intake too low - like in line with hazard seven-hundred - the physique won't deplete 1300 cals from the fat shops - it is going into starvation mode, and could not use the fat ingredients in case it needs them later so dont do this - it wont make you loose weight speedier. objective for a million-2lbs a week thank you :o)

Depends on your weight. Look up a BMI chart on google or something.

For me (I weigh 140 Ibs.) I burn around 1700-2000

For this you need to calculate your BMI ie basal metabolic rate. This rate is dependent on various factors. Once you calculate this you can also know the ammount of calories you need to sustain that weight.
