Usually upon reboot a black screen will popup with a curser blinking, that is when you need to press F8 (Note) It only appears for a couple of seconds so keep pressing F8 repeatedly?

    Here's another method.

Go to Start -> Run Type msconfig and hit Ok. Go in BOOT.INI tab and tick both "Safe boot" and to the right of that "Networking" and hit Apply and Close.(It will boot in "Safe with networking mode" Choose Aministrator)

How to fix corrupted Windows system files.

    1. Go to Start -> Run -> type sfc /scan now ->hit ok.

It will ask you to insert a Windows XP installation disc.

    2. Insert the disc and let the SFC utility run

    3. SFC will check/repair changes made to the main system files.

ok good old chump this is what you do

boot up your pc and let it go as far as the loading screen and press the power Button to force shut down you pc and boot it up again this will let the COMPUTER pull up those options for you

now as far as back up you can buy you self a external enclose and place the hard disk inside and retrieve the files tr ought the usb with another computer i would advise you to ask a friend to use theirs if you don't have another computer handy

If it is black blank screen all over with no display ever then it might be some hardware defect like a fault RAM

You can boot, then while Windows logo shows, shut the computer off abruptly, then restart and it'll ask you.
