Maple Syrup or Sunflower seed wedding favors?
I am having a fall wedding (Oct. 8) and can't decide on what to do for favors.
We live in Vermont, so my first thought was to do Vermont maple syrup as a favor. I was thinking 4 oz. Ball canning jars would be a good size, and I could print up labels for them.
My other thought was to do sunflower seeds packets (with labels that I print) and put the packets inside little clay flower pots. BTW, the only flower we are using in the wedding is the sunflower.
Which idea do you think is best? If I do the maple syrup, do you think that jar is a good size? Should I go bigger, smaller, or use a different container?
Thanks everyone for your answers!

Syrup! So cute. We're doing honey for ours...you can make the jars really cute.

4 oz may not sound like a lot, but with real maple syrup as expensive as it is, if you have a lot of guests it will cost a lot just for favors, so keep it small. A ball canning jar to me is a bit plain for real maple syrup but probably practical to keep the expense down. My bro in law makes maple syrup and has some beautiful leaf looking jars that he puts it in but something like that may cost a lot. Might be worth pricing them though.

I would do Maple Syrup since your having a fall wedding and Sunflowers only grow in the summertime!!

I like both ideas.
When is the latest to plant sunflower seeds in Vermont, if guests actually want to use them? That might help you decide.
I also think the seeds favor will be alot less expensive. That might be something to consider.
