Anime's similar to Samurai Champloo (or any military animes)?

i'm watching Samurai Champloo I'm on episode 18. I'm nearing the end in a couple episodes. Are there any good. Samurai Animes that are similar to Samurai champloo. or any worth watching from Shinichirō Watanabe? I watched Cowboy Bebop by him

Also, are there any good military animes?

    Blue Gender

    Tide Line Blue

    Zipang

    Gun Parade (March and Orchestra)

    Souten Kouro

    Valkyria Chronicles

    These are some Sci Fi military series:

    Starship Troopers (the cgi version is terrific, the japanese version is very hard to find)

    Legend of Galactic Heros (terrific series)

    Banner of the Stars/Crest of the Stars

    Bleach (if you consider their swords as samurai). =)

    Fullmetal Alchemist/Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Pumpkin Scissors are good military animes especially FMA!. XD

    Full Metal Panic is the only military anime that I know of.

    Black Lagoon is good - i guess it's kind of military in parts.
