How to know when milk is sour?
Is it true that some whole milk brands may taste differently? Or should milk generally taste the same? I just want to make sure so that I don't give my baby sour milk.

Yes, some people can tell which brand the milk is in a locality. Sour milk is easy to distinguish. If the small doesn't let you know the taste surely will.

Milk used to sour way back when----milk does not sour anymore, it just rots.
It used to be that you could just wait till milk soured and then you could use it to cook with or drink. The way they pasturize it now, it won't happen. If you want buttermilk, you have to buy it.
You will know when not to feed it to your baby, cause---it stinks.
To be sure, just give it the taste test. If it tastes good, it's good.
