I've had this Rival for about 3 years, and absolute LOVE It. And it won't break the bank.

All Clad BTW, does NOT manufacture THEIR OWN line of crock pots, they have their label on it of course, but THE INTERIOR WORKS ARE MADE BY RIVAL.
The nice thing about this is that you can set it HI or LOW, either 4-6 hours, or 8-10 hours and it will default to WARM until you turn it off.
And I don't know WHAT one would cook in a crock pot for 23 HOURS. Unless you need to cook something an entire day and then keep it warm.........???? BTW, you can get them at Target for about 50 bucks.
All Clad is EXTREMELY nice COOK WARE, but I'm kind of leery of their electrical appliances.
And Cuininart is JUST A NAME, it does NOT imply that it's the best of the best. trust me..........
Source(s): I was professionally trained at Le Cordon Bleu....LCB certified...... BTW, the link for the broken handle: http://www.marbeck.com/crock_parts_rival.html They don't have the EXACT original handle, but these work just as well.......I've been using it for a year now, no problems..... EDIT: After a bit of searching, RIVAL DOES have a replacement handle, you can go to this link and they'll help you, but HAVE YOUR MODEL NUMBER HANDY...... http://www.crock-pot.com/CustomerService.aspx?id=r... - 1 decade ago
I too have a Rival ~ same model as Christopher K. above. Compared to the other crocks I've had, I love having two time options both on High and Low, and the "warm" feature is invaluable. How many times I've been caught up at the office knowing my meal was either done or close to, and either having to call home to have someone turn it off, or coming home to food that has cooked way too long. It will automatically switch to the "warm" feature after cooking the programmed period of time. Great feature!
As for the other brands, I do not feel it is necessary to spend tons of cash on a crock, and I typically go for the best when it comes to kitchen stuff. The first crock I had was passed down from my mother, it was a Rival, and although old it still lasted for years. I too know that the higher-end products are made by Rival and just sport an expensive brand's name.
If you buy the one Christopher K.'s link shows, you will not be disappointed, and will have saved some serious cash ;)

I have a Rival Smart-Pot and love it. There are two different timer settings for high and low, so four settings basically. When it's done it defaults to warm as someone else mentioned. And the stoneware insert is removable and can go in the dishwasher. I love it, in fact I've got dinner cooking in it right now. (Swedish meatballs) It's stainless steel with a black insert if you find a pic online.
The only thing I dislike about it is that I broke the handle off the lid, but that's my own danged fault. I still recommend it highly.

I have an All-Clad and I love it. After going through over 10 cheap crock pots my husband gave me this one. Expensive, but you can cook for up to 23 hours. It's almost air tight, cooks evenly. I can cook a small whole turkey in it - it's that roomy.

I have a RIVAL- Great. I think they were the first one to come out with the crockpot.
