Have you ever said "I'm NEVER, EVER going to buy those for my child"?

I've always said (even before I had Johnny) that my kids would never have those stupid roller skate shoes. UGH, those things get on MY NERVES! I've even threatened all my family members (LOL) and told them not to buy them for him when he gets older.

Have you ever said your children would never have something? What was/is it?

Shoes that light up when they walk. Who on earth decided to drive the rest of us mad by making a shoe so annoying? I also hate those roller skate shoes, my niece has them and every once and awhile she will run into me. I also just don't understand them and it pisses me off.

*my mom bought Jax light up shoes. We actually had an argument about this*

Figures and not shocked, would blow the entire scam out to the water, could you see the shucking and jiving during the hearings. It's a dirty big secrets, you know this year the lobbyists and others will reach $4 billion* to the House and Senate members and from what I can tell the ruling is going to allow them to buy air time so it will be more cash for them, unless that is just for the party guys. ironic that the lobbyists may just be saving us from some pretty costly and unknown bills. You got a ton of great answers, but wanted to throw in my two cents. Figures they only had the libs, they love to set it up that way. If they go to black and white film and start using a lot of shadows, watch out. But I was shocked. not sure if you have seen the far right wing radical show n Fox news called Red Eye, but yesterday they had the clips of President Obama in front of those people at he latest staged Obama care speech. Well those Red Eye people dubbed in canned laughter like on Leno and Letterman, so right after the President made a statement about healthcare or something, they would play the laughing which went hand in hand withthe aactors, i mean people behind him jumpinig up and clapping. It was SHOCKIING, but he did get more laughs than Letterman. Now that I think about what he was sayng maybe it wasn't dubbed. Actually it is one a late night sorta comedy show on Fox and sometimes pretty funny. They do have this space alien that has a rock band and you know the guy makes sense, but I don't think he could run for pres. ha, ha. Wait, then again. Wonder if Timmy has a lassie to help him, he suremay need on in a few years. just kidding.

Not really. I let her be who she wanted to be. Luckily, she wasn't the Club Libby Lu glitter type. I see lots of those kids at the mall...tight clothes, make up and glitter ala Britney and they're 5 freaking years old!

I always wanted her to be comfortable. The middle school years are the worst. Be prepared, ladies!!! That was a rough, rough time. I ended up buying her clothes that the other girls had, but that doesn't help.

If I had a boy, I would definitely limit the war stuff and the video games.

And have more outside play time.

I've said alot of things that I ended up giving into but one thing I will always stand my ground on is toy guns. I hate them, I cant stand them. Although I really dont know why. My ex-husbands cousin shot himself in the head when he was 13 playing around with a gun. I never met him and I dont even talk to my ex but that story still scares me and I hate when kids point those toys at eachother. What if they came across real one? Uggghhh see paranoia, lol!

LOL!!! The funny thing is, I've wanted a pair of those roller skate shoes for MYSELF for so long!!! Boy would my shopping get done QUICK in those things....

What I've said I would never buy? A leash! (Did you see the peopleofwalmart.com leash picture, it's like of a 6 year old boy, lol!)

  • Anything Barney....I hate that thing. I've stuck to my guns too...no Barney in MY house!

I also told family members NOT to buy 2 of everything, my boys will have to learn to share. Now obviously if it's 2 of something so they can play together, that's different (like 2 squirt guns or 2 race cars) but they don't need 2 keyboards or 2 Tickle Me Elmos...etc...

    Source(s): Mama of 2 boys :)

Those stupid Bratz dolls and accessories. I won't let her watch the cartoon either. I've also threatened family members. If they ever buy those for her, they will go in the garbage.

The Baby Alive doll...for some reason it just looks so creepy like the offspring of Chucky. There's just something about those eyes that creep me out.

Anything that has to do with Elmo...I wouldn't want to hear that annoying laugh day in and day out.

And I'm with you on those rollerskating shoes...I don't want to take constant trips to the ER.

Bratz...umm well can we say promoting prostitution? That's what some of their outfits look like, and they look creepy in the face.

I will NOT allow her to watch Brats, I've only seen a couple of their shows but they are suck stuck ups, I have enough problems with her picking up attitude at school, I don't need her learning it from TV too.

My kids were never going to watch those stupid cartoons on PBS blah blah blah "Kids belong outside not watching tv, heck i'm not even going to let my kids watch tv!"...and guess what? She's sitting in front of the tv right now watching a recording of aurthur...DW is screaming about how she wants nothing to eat except cake and now she will probably be screaming it later too.
