teacher grabbed my child in front of me. School board involved. they are playing it down as nothing.?
I went in to the school to ask a teacher why the homework was not matching what was being taught in the class (failing test grade for the week) and after a short discussion the teacher reached around me and grabbed my child's arm and pulled on it. she then proceeded to shake her finger at my daughter and called her a liar. I reported this to school board. school investigation proceeded with statements given. they said that there was not enough evidence to substantiate my claim. I found out from my daughter, that the school counselor examined my daughters arms and was questioned without my permission, consent, or presence. I am livid at the school for down playing this incident and for questioning and examining my daughter. After the school board does there county level investigation, depending on the results of that investigation, what are my options. we are low income and can't afford attorneys. I would appreciate any advice, including advice from other teachers. Thanks

As a teacher, I want to say that I am sorry that this has happened to you and your daughter. No teacher should touch a student like this, and it was inappropriate for her to yell at your child as well. Sometimes the school board does very little, because they (1) either don't want to be bothered with it, or (2) it is not really something they have dealt with before or want to deal with now. I would suggest setting up a meeting with the principal and guidance counselor. You can ask for the teacher to be present as well, if you wish. You need to voice your concerns to these two people and demand your child is moved to a new classroom. This is a safety and academic issue. You need to bring with you the homework and test grades and also any paperwork or evidence you have into the investigation that is going on. Most likely they will work with you and accommodate your child. They would rather you be happy, then having a lawsuit with the school.
I really hope that this helps. And again, I'm sorry that you had to deal with this situation.

Without any confirmatory evidence, there is nothing really that can do. This could be one of those situations of "Your word against her word". If there is no action, you as a parent can go to the school office and request your daughter to be put in a different class. Usually, the office should have no problem to do this.

The teacher must be crazy to grab your child infront of you. Your daughter needs a different teacher. I would not allow my child to go back to school until the situation was fixed.

Don't get sue happy.
My mother was a public school teacher and they don't get paid enough to deal with that.
You really should leave that school. If the problems persist, you should really consider that it may not be the school's fault.

schools do not need your permission to question students. We do it all the time. "in loco parentis"
it sounds like you are doing what needs to happen. attorneys would not help you at all. you have no damages. (specific law term - because you are angry is not cause for damages)
you could find a private school.
