Why are people on here so hateful? Christians attacking Atheists & vice versa?

Why do Christians and Atheists on here just keep attacking each other? Christians we are supposed to show love to those who hate us and do not agree with us.

I've seen a couple Christians on here saying they wish all Atheists would die, which I was appalled. Even though we don't share the same beliefs, that is very harsh. Atheists are people too. I don't agree with about 95% of what they say but they are still human!

Christians, when we talk about our beliefs and they come from the Bible and are truthful then there is no need to apologize, for the Bible is truth, but when you say things from your own heart, you are not sharing God's love. No wonder they don't want to take a chance in believing.

I've been guilty of this too and if I offended anyone, outside of quoting the Bible, I apologize.

God Bless

Update:

When sharing things from the heart that is demeaning a person or being downright hateful is what I meant, not speaking from the heart with love and logic.

While I appreciate your attempts to be "tolerant" and respectful of others, I'll have to be a bit contrary and tell you that most of us atheists have no desire whatsoever to hear anything about your god delusion. It's not like we haven't already heard all about it, quite often we know more about your religion and bible than you do -- we just don't buy it. And telling us about it again isn't going to change that. Not to mention that it's not really possible to speak about your god or bible using "logic."

Seriously, I hope you're sincere in wanted to not be hateful. Know what would go a long way towards that? Don't preach to atheists or anyone else. We know what you believe -- we don't believe it. Continuing to throw it at us is hateful, and very annoying. OK? Thanks.

    Peace.

    Look the bottom line IS:

Many of the atheists and christians that live their lives on this website are both of a loud minority. The ones here that insult you and post sarcastic questions have no lives, thats it.

Of course many on here ask sincere questions and give sincere answers as well, but, as i said, the loud bunch drown them out. If you went out in the real world you wouldnt find nearly as many ignorant and malevolent as you run into on this site in a daily basis.

I hope this has helped you understand the Yahoo Answers R&S community. God bless :)

I honestly don't care. It's not like anyone will actually change anyone else's opinions. That's pretty rare on Y!A. However, the problem is that people only keep to their side and won't open their mind to the other side.

It's an Internet forum. The only thing you can 100% guarantee on any lightly to moderately moderated Internet forum is that it will largely be hateful.

You're confusing 'hateful' with 'morally outraged'. If you saw practices inimical to modern society, wouldn't you feel obliged to oppose them?

If not, you're presumably one of the politically correct, cotton candy and saccharine crowd which will eventually drown any talent or individuality out of mankind.

Being honest, I would rather you said things from your heart than have to just get bible quotes as answers.

This is always a great place to come for a fight. It's a good place to practice ignoring things, too.

I am trying to not be hateful, It's hard to like Christianity. They say one thing and do another and end up in a jesus cage.

Don't read so much into it. It's the net. Leave your feelings next to your mouse.
