What is the most ridiculous part about going out to eat dinner at a restaurant?

A) The appetizers that can cost as much as your entree?

B) Paying $15+ on a 6 ounce piece of meat that costs about $5?

C) Reading the description of a meal thinking it will be large and feel you up, then you get it and it would be considered a little bit bigger than a snack?

D) If you want to get dessert, you have to spend anywhere from $5.50-$10 to get a sliver of cake or pie or whatever you want?

E) Feeling like you have to tip even if the waiter/waitress was absolutely horrible?

F) Your own answer

Big F for me, Almost everytime I go out I see a waitress or another worker EATING in the kitchen, SNEEZING or COUGHING in thier hand or just plain bad sanitation that I can not stand! I once went to a new place near my house and saw the bartender eating out of the popcorn machine that they put baskets of popcorn on for every table. Brought this up to the "owner" walking around asking how things were and he apologized, Said it was his daughter!! I told him I did not care if it was JESUS CHRIST, You do not eat from there and she should know better. I have not been back since and my wife hates when we have to go out, tries to make me sit so I do not see into a kitchen but I still see the servers. I just hate going out so I do cook at home often.

Regarding C): If you read a description of a meal and thought it would be large and feel you up, it must have been a prison menu. I know it was just a typo, but....

Your list of complaints is certainly valid, as we have all had the bad experiences you list; but, bottom line, if you weren't happy with the restaurant, don't go back, and tell your friends so they won't go there.

Tipping is a problem for me. Not because I'm cheap, because I'm not. I'm a good tipper. Every restaurant the I go to knows I'm a good tipper and sometimes the waiter/waitresses fight over who will serve me! When I got to a restaurant for the first time, I have a short little speech for the waiter: "Hi, My name is Joe and this is (I introduce my date). Do you know what the word TIP stands for? It means, 'to insure promptness". I'm a great tipper. Soooo, you do your part, and I promise I will more than adequately do my part". And when the service sucks, so does my tip.

    F) The price of alcoholic beverages. I know how much the restaurant paid for them. The mark-up is insane. An 80 cent bottle of beer is marked up to $6. I know that there's a high profit margin for booze, but that's still crazy.

There being plenty of seats in the actual restaurant and they seat us by the bathroom or at the front by the door.

Also, that kids meals come out so piping hot that they can't eat them while my food is cold.

    F) The annoying loud people in front of me and beside me. Oh and don't forget the long line that ends almost in the parking lot.

Tipping. Although I am a great tipper, I don't see how it's MY responsibility to pay someone else's employee.
