I just bought an FJ1200 and I was wondering.?

The thing has a top speed of 244.3 km/h. Or 151 MPH conservatively. I am never going there. What was the fastest you ever rode your Bike? I have never gone above about 90. I have gone faster in cars but out in the wind is a bit scary. 145MPH in a car by the way 67 Riviera GS.

Update:

Speedo goes to 260 Kph / 165 Mph. Maybe off a cliff. No way that is ever gonna happen!

I've gone 150MPH. It was kinda scary just thinking that at that speed there is no responding or reacting to something in the road or other motorists.

I wanted to do more though because there was much more to twist and a few more RPMs to get. My better sense got hold of me and I slowed it down. LOL

Other than that I keep it simple. Short freeway sprints never really go higher than 120MPH for a few seconds.

Have an 07 ZX10R I have stopped the clock at 299 kmh around 185 mph

I also have a 99 GSX1300R have had the speedo showing 310 kmh.

I ride daily to work and I think if you can that's what you need to do. The more practice the better you get. by the way the above speeds where done on long smooth country roads. Normaly I'm a law abiding citizen.

    My indicated speeds:

    1981 Honda CB750F (highly modified): 210 km/h

    2001 Buell Blast: don't know/who cares?

2003 Buell XB9S Lightning: 225 km/h (rev limiter in top gear)

2008 Buell 1125R: 215 km/h in 4th gear on the street; I've gone much faster at the track, but I don't look at the speedo!

Bear in mind that most speedometers are pretty optimistic, and the error often increases with speed. At high speeds they can be over 10% off.

Indicated 160mph on an ZZR 1100 on an autobahn, top of the world until a Porsche 911 came past.
