Do you think, that Muslims should be allowed to be in our military?
Think about what happened at Fort Hood.
I asked this to see how we Americans think regarding this sensitive issue.
Personally, anyone not saved can do what happed in Texas. Look at shootings elsewhere after the Fort Hood incident.

Yeah we really need to get off that kick on stereotyping someone for their religion. Their are Muslims then there are Radical Muslims. Big difference. If we keep this rhetoric up about one incident, tragic and unthinkable yes, we will find ourselves no better than those that single out a specific race or religion or ethnic background to stereotype and target. Many many analogies today and in history. Have you ever been pulled over by a police officer and it went pretty bad and the officer was rude and you felt you got the shaft? Remember that officers name? No but I bet we went around stating the entire police department is screwed up. We can't go after a religion or an ideology through the actions of one person. I've seen a lot of these types of questions since yesterday and yes, yours is the first one I finally had to put my two cents worth in but we need to look at the person, not what he did because he turned Muslim then fell into the radical side of what Muslims are really not about but some twisted interpretation of the Koran. He did this on his own and their are plenty of those of the Muslim faith, Catholics, Protestants, Jewish, Baptists and I am sure that one of each of those practicing religions did something along the way that wasn't too good so are we going to banish them too based on one persons actions. I hope not. Again, not taking away that this was just mindless senseless killing and he probably did it based on his radical religious views he picked up over time but we can't banish them all "just in case."

There is no reason muslims should not be allowed in the military. However when they start throwing up read flags like the guy in Fort hood did the political correctness needs to be dropped and action taken.

This variety of questions displays EXACTLY what I used to be afraid could occur. We've had countless numbers of peaceable, patriotic Muslims serving within the navy for years. One tragedy and individuals are capable to kick them out of the nation. The larger query to invite could be why THIS man used to be allowed to stick in. From the money owed I've heard, he were sending up "purple flags" for decades... and the one factor that used to be taking place used to be that he used to be getting deficient efficiency reviews. I do feel individuals are overly politically right... even within the navy. When anyone DOES exhibit indicators of radicalism OR deteriorating intellectual wellbeing, they do not get challenged, given that anyone will declare they're being profiled. That is mistaken... however so is condemning any individual with a humorous title.

In the Koran it states they should kill anyone who does not follow Allah and they should be severely punished for killing their own. The chance of them having to go to war against a muslim country is extremely high, therefore I do not believe they should be allowed to join our military or have a position in our governemnt at all as it is far too risky. This man went around handing out Korans and shouting things about Allah right before he killed these people. This religion is embedded in them radical or not.

NO. not because I hate Muslims - I don't, but because they ARE Muslims, how can the Military epect them to fight and kill their own people? Yes, I know, they were probably born in this country, but their deep rooted religion and family Honor, take precidence over anything else! They never sent Japanese-American soliders to fight in the Pacific for obvious reasons. This man in Fort Hood, should never have been sent to that facility or any other place, because. He obviously had problems long before they sent him there.

I would hope those who serve our country would not want to see our constitution destroyed because of one deranged Muslim. I would think it would be a slap in the face to those in the military to see what they believe in destroyed after they have risked their lives for it.
We saw the protestors when we came home and we didn't scream to end the right to free speech. It would have been a tragedy and would have diminished what we fought for.

No, because it is too easy for them to place themselves there now, kill our soldiers on our own soil and get sympathy from Libs and America haters, and those afraid to offend the Muslims.
They should not be Pilots either. Heck whay are they even here unless they are truly ready to defend our country, not Allah. America is paying severly for being so PC. This will be the downfall of Her.

yes i do. i know other muslims who love America their country.
Remember, Al Qaeda and the terrorists kill Muslims, mostly, not American servicemen.
dont buy the BS the lib media is giving you about this guy.
now, we should not allow CRAZY people in our military. Let us have psychological tests like the police depts' do.

Not just allowed, but actively recruited. Ask anyone who has actually been on the front lines of modern warfare: American Muslims are worth their weight in platinum.
If we treated our Muslim citizens with more decency and respect, would MAJ Hasan have snapped?
Could it be that this ignorant attitude lead to the deaths of American soldiers on Thursday?
How much are YOU responsible?
