A question about Abraham's near murder of Issacs?
Is anyone else troubled about that story? If they existed today, what would be reaction of the police, Nancy Grace, and the public?

LMAO Nancy Grace HA HA HA HA HA!!!!
God I can see her now:
"TONIGHT! Shocking news out of the Sea of Galilee...A man who took HIS OWN CHILD on a journey to be MURDERED! Experts are stumped, hear what the father's OUTRAGEOUS reason for his action was, next!"

The most troubling part of the story -- and it continues to be troubling to this day -- is that ANYONE would perform an atrocity because they believe some supernatural entity demanded it. I mean, seriously, an all-powerful, all-merciful god demands that Abraham kill his son as a burnt offering. Really??? THAT is a deity you would want to get close to??? And Abraham just goes and does it???
And these days, fundamentalist Christians bomb medical clinics and assassinate doctors and deny people their basic rights because they believe that very-same deity demands it. Really???
It's one thing to allow oneself to become self-deluded but it's quite another when that delusion starts affecting other people, and crosses into atrocity.
Troubling. Very troubling.

That Christians (and Jews) can believe that Abraham passed the test is very troubling.
No wonder there have been cases of mentally ill Christians killing their children because God (or their hallucination of God) said so.

That may be why the All-Knowing Almighty did it back then. The Liberals and the media would get too worked up today.
Besides, it is a beautiful story of a conflicted, tested man and his loving son doing what the Almighty commanded instead of seeking their own self-serving goals. Are you trying to convince me otherwise?

God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son."
Abe said, "Man, you must be puttin' me on."
God, said, "No."
Abe said, "What?"
God said, "You can do what want Abe but...
"The next time you see me comin' you'd better run."
Abe said, "Where you want this killin' done?"
God said, "Out on Highway 61."
