My cat bathes me?!?!?

I have a full-grown female cat that I raised from a kitten and she is very lovable. She sleeps with my wife and I every night, on my side of the bed. Lately, I've been waking up in the morning to her intentively licking my head. She goes to town at it and doesn't even stop to take a breath until I practically throw her off of me.

Is this normal? Does it mean anything good or bad - other than she must think I'm dirty?

You must have bonded with the cat a lot.

My dog LOVES to lick. Even this morning i woke up and my dog was licking my hand. This just means that they love you a lot. Wild animals groom their family or mates. The same thing goes for pets. Your cat just wants to show you some attention, thats all.

    No need to worry. (:

My female cat does that to me, licks my arm (until its raw if I didn't stop her) when she lays next to me. It's a bonding thing. She licks the top of my husband's head at night sometimes too. They like the salty taste I think. Plus they bond with each other by grooming. When you pet her it's like a great big "tongue" grooming her. She's just returning the favor!

she is in need for some serious salt ,or maybe she is trying to get your attention next time don't throw her and just follow her a watch cats have a good sense of smell and surroundings maybe she is trying to save your lives, does she do this to any one else maybe if its only you there is something wrong with you that she senses. i once heard a cat saved this families life because we cant smell carbon monoxide ,but they can and the cat woke the whole family up and was scratching at the closet where they had a water heater with the pilot out they felt sluggish but made it out of the house in time before anyv thing extreme happend to them, look into it and let us know
