Kitten ate hair dye now there is blood in her stool.?

I dyed my hair blonde at about 4 today. About an hour ago I noticed my kitten, who is only black and white, had an orange stripe on her paw. At first we werent worried. I just cleaned it up and laughed about it assuming she got into the trash in the bathroom but just now she went to the bathroom and there was blood in her stool. We havent taken her to the vet yet and i know it could just be worms but is there a chance she could have injested some of the dye and thats whats causing her to bleed? If so should I worry and what can i do to help her? There arent any vets open this late and shes not acting funny at all.

Hair dye, especially dye to bleach hair includes bleach and other corrosive chemicals. In humans and animals this can cause severe damage to the oesophagus, stomach and intestines that can cause internal bleeding and holes (perforation) of the gut.

You need to call the poisons service and take the kitten to the vet or nearest emergency clinic immediately if you suspect that the bleach has caused this problem as this could be very serious.

Whatever you do, do NOT induce vomiting or feed her at the moment until you have cleared her with the vet. While she is not taking in anything orally she must have intravenous fluids if there is any delay in diagnosis, so it is necessary to take her to the vet or emergency clinic ASAP.

she's probably fine, and no.. she won't die unless she consumed a LOT of the dye. as long as shes eating and drinking normally, she should be ok. if the blood in the stool lasts for more than 2 days, consult a vet. the chemicals could have caused intestinal bleeding. was it red blood or did it look black? and it could also be worms... most kittens have them. however, in either case... if you're worried.... talk to your vet in the morning and monitor your kittens activity level, eating/drinking, and other stools until then.

Keep a close eye on her and her stools (gross!). Most dry cat food has red dye (listed in the ingredients) and can make it look like blood in the stool. If you want to avoid seeing this false alarm then look for cat food with no red dye. Just keep an eye on her just in case though. any sign of sickness call the vet first thing in the morning.

Make sure you keep her hydrated, and get her into the vet ASAP in the morning just to make sure everything is okay. If she did ingest some of the dye, she could be poisoned. :( If you were dying your hair blonde, that sort of dye usually has some bleach in it. You might want to try looking up some questions on here or on google about poison control solutions to ingested bleach... Or even try calling poison control and tell them what happened. They're usually open 24/7 and they might just be able to help. Good luck; I hope I was able to help you some.

Call the vet, right away. Save the box from the hair dye, if you still have it so they know what was in it. See what the vet says. I think you can even call poison control for animals.

Please take her to a vet! look up an emergency vet which will nonetheless be open. the undeniable fact that she has been ill is a stable sign via fact like whilst people eat some thing undesirable for them, their device will attempt to get rid of it, the comparable will ensue with animals. with a bit of luck she would be in a position to have already gotten maximum of it out of her device yet you particularly do would desire to take her to a vet! i'm hoping she is great.

Take your cat to the vet immediately. Blood, from humans and/or animals is not normal. You have to take that poor baby. You can't take a chance. Please go right away.
