Can someone explain the Rapture?
I'm a Seventh Day Adventist Christian, and at the beginning of this school year I started out at a Baptist school. I've recently heard my Bible teacher talk a lot about the Rapture, and I'm no quiet sure what it means.
Thank You
I totally don't believe in flase doctrines, I believe only that taking Jesus into your heart will make you saveed.

1 Corinthians 15 (Amplified Bible) 52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the [sound of the] last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [in Christ] will be raised imperishable (free and immune from decay), and we shall be changed (transformed). 1 Thessalonians 4 (Amplified Bible) 13Now also we would not have you ignorant, brethren, about those who fall asleep [[g]in death], that you may not grieve [for them] as the rest do who have no hope [beyond the grave]. 14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will also bring with Him through Jesus those who have fallen asleep [[h]in death]. 15For this we declare to you by the Lord's [own] word, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall in no way precede [into His presence] or have any advantage at all over those who have previously fallen asleep [in Him [i]in death]. 16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first. 17Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord! 18Therefore comfort and encourage one another with these words.
+++"What is the Rapture of the church? Answer: The word “rapture” does not occur in the Bible. The concept of the rapture, though, is clearly taught in Scripture. The rapture of the church is the event in which God removes all believers from the earth in order to make way for His righteous judgment to be poured out on the earth during the tribulation period. The rapture is described primarily in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-54. God will resurrect all believers who have died, give them glorified bodies, and take them from the earth, along with those believers who are still alive and who will at that time also be given glorified bodies. “For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
The rapture will be instantaneous in nature, and we will receive glorified bodies at that time. “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). The rapture is the glorious event we should all be longing for. We will finally be free from sin. We will be in God's presence forever. There is far too much debate over the meaning and scope of the rapture. This is not God’s intent. Rather, in regard to the rapture, God wants us to “encourage each other with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:18).

At the end of the Church Age Christ's coming for believers is commonly referred to as the Rapture,
meaning catching away, [1Thessalonians 4:16-17[.
- 1 decade ago
The rapture will occur at the "end of the world"...when Christ will appear in the heavens.
He will finally come back to take all believers in Christ up to Heaven. Those who have already passed away and were believers will rise first and go to heaven, then those of us that are still alive and are believers will go next. Those who are not believers will be left on earth and suffer God's punishment.

The Rapture can be found in 1 Thes 4:13 thru the end of chapter 5.
And it is talked about in 1 Cor 15.
Jesus also talked about it in Matthew:
Matt 24:
36"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.
The key verses above are 39 and 40.
Again Jesus talked about it in Luke:
Luke 17:34
I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.
The first and the next phase of the return of Jesus is when Jesus returns in the air to catch away his bride. His bride is the Church.
At that moment, all the real, genuine Christians will be snatched off the face of the earth to be with the Lord.
I'd suggest you read 1 Thes 4:13 - chapter 5. The rapture itself occurs in 1 Thes 4:17
1 Thessalonians 4:17
17After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
The Greek word, translated "caught up", in our English Bibles is translated as "rapture" in Latin and that's where the word "rapture" comes from.
There is a movie series called Left Behind which you can buy at most Wal-Marts for about 5 bucks.
There are three movies, three DVD's in the series.
Those movies are based on the "Left Behind" book series.

There are several links on the next page which talk about it:

It means the catching away of the Church when Jesus returns. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive will be caught up together in the air, to be forever with the Lord ( 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 ). Beware of the false doctrine of the Seventh Day Adventist.

God comes back to take his true followers and all hell is unleashed on Earth. The wicked and the Fools will be left in a world of chaos and lies created by themselves.

It is a false teaching which was started circa 1830 by a very sick woman by the name of Margaret Macdonald. The word "rapture" does not even appear in the KJV1611 Bible.Do a little research and find out for yourself.Don't allow false teachers of God's word to spoon feed you lies and accept it as the word of God according to them.A word to the wise is sufficient.

Some Christians believe that there will be a rapture before a time of tribulation.I personally believe they have misunderstood certain parts of the bible.Jesus said no one knows when he will return-only GOD knows.Read your bible and you will know the truth.GOD-bless
