Should I be using Caustic Soda to clean my toilet, or kitchen sink?

As we all know, Caustic soda or Sodium hydroxide has the capacity to destroy living tissue, should I be using this to clean my drains? I have actualy put some down the toilet, @ 33% concentration in liquid form, and noticed it is breaking up the limescale too.... Would this attack greasy food and fats if they are blocking the pipes?

No it might destroy your living tissue!

Actually Caustic soda is the only stuff I use when sinks pipes are blocked as other stuff is not strong enough. Don't use it to just clean your loo everyday though

It's probably eating your pipes too. Use baking soda and white vinegar instead. Done on a weekly basis you should have no problem.

You can remove the p-trap from your kitchen sink and clean it out using an old toothbrush and comet or ajax and reinstall.
