does OBD II code P0325 affects inspection of my altima 2000?

Hello everyone.. I live in NJ. My car does not have check engine sign. My car is due for the state inspection. So I scanned it to check for any codes, and P0325 code came up. I erased that code. Now my question is, will it show up in their scanner when i go for the inspection? Is there any chance of my car failing the inspection?

Thanks

Update:

Check engine light was never on in my car, not even before i scanned it. I don't know how that code came up? Now should it be a problem? thanks

If you erase the codes and don't do an OBD drive cycle (50 - 100 miles) the computer will show to many items "not ready" and it will fail the emissions test. P0325 suggests the knock sensor is bad so why don't you just replace it and see if that is what's wrong. For my '05 Silverado 5.3L it runs about $45.00. Not sure about yours.

It should pass. The P0325 code says the normal sound signals from the knock detector were missing (probably a bad connection) but since the light has not come back on it must have been a fluke.

I agree with what Frankie said. I did inspections in NY state before I moved. Disconnecting the battery will reset the monitors and they will show as "not ready". In NY on the newer cars all but one have to be "ready".

You can try to clear it and see if it comes back on. There is always a chance that it may not.

heres some info on your code, if you think it wont pass because of this, then you need to get it checked out. every state inspection is different.

if you erased the code and it the light hasn't come back on again then don't worry because as long as eggs is eggs it will come back on and also the ecu stores the history of codes so unless you have the manufacturers IT11 obd checker the you will not be able to clear the history from the ecu
