Christians will you back up Pat Robertson's comments about the Haitian earthquake?
He is making Christians look like fools. So be it.
As a spokes man for Christianity and a presidential candidate embraced buy Christianity it seems cowardly that Christians would all run for cover now.
This is a perfect example why we cannot have a right wing Christian as president. It is bad enough that he has embarrassed us simple by his words. If he had been elected president it would be an embarrassment beyond anything we have been forced to endue thus far.
He was your man till last week

The dude is gettin' senile. I don't usually stick up for the Christians, but don't blame them because the old fart is such a tool.

It could be God's judgment, and it might not be God's judgment. If you read the bible, God destroyed the entire city of Sodom. What makes you think he still doesn't render such judgments? However, I do not condone saying this or that is God's will, because God's ways are unknowable. Not even the Holy Men described in the bible knew why God did some of the things he did. Moses for example, never understood why God chose him to bring the Israelis out of Egypt. Samuel did not understand why God chose a boy to be King. Job did not know why God allowed him to suffer so much. With that said, it might be that God rendered judgment upon these people, but I seriously have no clue. Anyway, my opinion? I think the man has the right to think that it was God's judgment. Just as you think it was not.

No one is without sin. Christians still sin and still make mistakes. There is no need to support his comments. There is also no need to condemn him.
Even if I believe in what he said, if I support his statements, I will receive the same backlash he is getting. I would consider it wise then not to support it.
If I do not believe in what he said, I could say he is wrong and be apart of the backlash against him. However there is enough of that already.
My job now is just to pray for him, forgive him if I do not share his view, and hope that either way he will help the haitians. Because we who believe, are called to love, to help our brothers and sisters in need, regardless of what we feel may have been the result of the earthquake.

Pat Robertson is the fool.
He doesn't speak for anyone but himself.
Who can say why this happened.
The earth shifted, buildings fell, people were killed.
Those are the facts.

This Christian was appalled at Mr. Robertson's comments. Pat Robertson hardly speaks for all Christians.

No. He does not represent all Christians. He's been making horrible comments like that for years. I'm not sure if he's getting senile or was always this deluded but I can't even stand to watch his show.

No. His opinions only have weight if one assumes that he is a legitimate mouthpiece for Christianity.
