How much activity after broken ribs?

I broke three ribs skiing eight days ago. Went to the doc's office today for follow up and I forgot to ask how much activity I'm allowed. Specifically, when can I get back to swimming? I assume the answer is as the pain allows but anyone know for sure?

I broke my proper 8 rib round November '05. Around March '06 I eventually bought it looked at and x-rayed. By May '06, the callous had shaped and medication all started. By May '07, the medication used to be entire, regardless that it nonetheless offers me drawback now and again, exceptionally after immoderate pressure, or on exceptionally bloodless days. Mind you, my enjoy could be very so much now not indicative of the norm, so I definitely would not base your expectancies on my reply! Something might ought to be very flawed with you for it to take so long as mine did!

You should only move when you have to. Broken ribs are very dangerous and could puncture your rib or heart if they move around a lot. Just sit still and don't bend too much.
