What have the Romans ever given us?

They've bled us white, the bastards. They've taken everything we had, not just from us, from our fathers and from our fathers' fathers. What have they ever given us in return?

After 2000 years you still hold a grudge against Rome?

They treated "us" just like they treated their most of their own people (yes, they really did), and even some of "us" got treated pretty good by playing the political games that "we" are so good at.

Maybe you just like to think of yourself as part of a victim class so you can justify your anger at other people.

The massed ranks of the British Celts then marched on London. God help any Romans there. Boudica's British military killed each residing concern interior the city, adult adult males, women human beings, toddlers, canines, cats etc. They bumped off all of the treasure and valuables they needed which comprise livestock and pigs etc then set hearth to the city of London and burnt it to a crips. in case you dig down 30 ft everywhere interior the city of London at the instant, you come back to this charcoal layer - the maintains to be of the unique Roman London. fortunately the Brits controlled to kick the Romans out of england interior the fourth century advert - bunch of spix. The King of england, Vortigern, invited the Saxons in and something is background.. Wales continuously and Celtii bew [the residing Celts] dying to Rome.

Why is this question in R&S? And what are you on about "bled us white", etc.?

Loads. Roads, sanitation, laws, bureaucratic government, warfare tactics, art, architecture, philosophy, historical records, theatre, etc. etc. etc.

The Roman empire was the foundation of our western civilisation and way of life.

Edit: of course the bastards gave us the burden of organised religion as well...
