how to convince a nineteen year old boy to not marry a girl he met three months ago?

This question caught my eye simply because I was 19 years old and married a 17 year old girl that I had known for three months. It was aweful! It was the worst time in my life. I look back on why we married and realize I had no idea what life was about and what I was getting into. I just wanted to live together as a married couple and "play house." Ask your brother to please date this girl for at least a year and then see what he wants to do. Tell him my story and hope that he takes things slower. Trust me, it will be worth the wait if he just takes time to get to know her more and get himself more stable before he tries to take on a huge responsibility like that. If at the end of a year he still wants to marry and is in a good financial spot in his life, then maybe it is the right thing to do (but I doubt it.)

Hmmm...take him to be a witness to a divorce proceeding?

Make him realize how he really doesn't have enough life experience to be making such a serious commitment. Try to compare this mistake to another he has made in his life.

Tell him love isn't everything. Love is great, but a marriage takes a lot more than that.

Try to get reality to set in...ask him where he will work, how much he will make, to make a budget and how he will handle marital problems, and what if this girl gets pregnant, etc;

Ask him what marriage means and what he expects to achieve by getting married. How long does he expect the engagement to last? When will they get married? How will he pay for a wedding?

Try to get him to understand that 3 months is not enough time to get to know someone. Maybe he has had a friend who he knew for a few years who turned out to be a completely different person that he thought he was, but he thought he was a good friend at first...maybe this girl seems good at first, but time could reveal some things he doesn't like about her.

Tell him that there is nothing wrong with living with someone of the opposite sex. It makes for an easier split than a divorce and he wouldn't have long-term financial consequences.

tell him to just live together without being married, they'll split in like a month anyway...

Tell him it is a great idea. He will do the opposite of what you want him to do.
