Christians, If in the trinity Jesus is God, isn't Jehovah God also? If so, why does it seem?

that you don't direct worship to the Father Jehovah? To an outsider, it would seem as if you don't recognize Jehovah as the Father of Jesus. That you don't recognize Jehovah as God. Please explain scripturally.

You question raises a great point. No matter how you analyze it, or try to explain it, the doctrine of the trinity makes no sense.

Most Christians mistakenly believe that Jesus is God. This is not scriptural. Carefully reading the scriptures themselves will show the truth.

    Are God and Jesus equal?

    John 14:28

    John 5:19

    Heb 5:8

    John 7:16

    Matthew 3:16, 17

    Matthew 20:23

    Acts 2:24

Jesus, even in heaven, is still subject to the Father

    1 Cor. 15:28

    Matthew 20:23

    Acts 5:31

    Philippians 2:9

    Hebrews 9:24

    Acts 7:55

    Who does Jesus listen to?

    1 Cor. 11:3

    John 20:17

    Rev 1:6

Jesus Christ is the Savior LORD God of Christians yet we are talking touching directly to the comparable God as quickly as we talk touching directly to the persons in Trinity The 'place of work'/'rank' is going like this the 1st individual in holy Trinity is the father who's God the 2d individual in holy Trinity is the Son ( Jesus ) who's God ( here in the worldwide Jesus replaced into totally God and totally human ) The third individual in holy Trinity is Holy Spirit who's God Holy Trinity is approximately one genuine God and that they have got diverse 'purposes', manifestations. You seem to have faith that the angel can exchange right into a human yet you are able to no longer have faith that each physique efficient God can not exchange into human ans nevertheless stay as God

Jehovah isn't the name of God. The name that God gave to Moses was probably "Yahweh"; at any rate, it certainly was not "Jehovah". You see, the scribes who copied the Torah didn't use the name of God because they were afraid that they would break the third commandment by thinking it with unsanctified minds while doing their work. Therefore, they invented a code word; they took the consonants from God's name (YHWH, or JHVH), added the vowels from "adonai" (the Hebrew word for "lord"), and came up with the word "Jehovah", which they could safely write down precisely because it wasn't the name of God.

As for the rest of it, we worship God the Father all the time. I hear the Father's name in worship more often than I hear Jesus' name. I think it's possible that when you called yourself an outsider, you were more accurate than you realized. Perhaps it would behoove you to get a little more inside our beliefs before you criticize them.

Did you know that the New Testament as the keys to open the Old Testament. Listen to what it is written.

A man appeared, sent by God. Whose name was John. he came to give testimony to testify about that Light.

So all might believe through him, he was not the Light. but he came to testify about the Light. That was the True Light which gives Light to everyone, who comes into the world.

John the Baptist said: He who comes in the world the world was made through Him, Yet the world knew Him not, That I should be baptized By Him, that I should tie his shoes.

Even today the world does not know Him. Cause Father God is the True Light It was He who came in the flesh to save His people. it was He who cursed the ground we live in. And it was Our Father God's plan to save His people through Him. that He put Himself on the cross. But satan covered the eyes of men. For they don't know the real Truth. Cause the real truth will set you free.

Now through the Holy Spirit of God, His Spirit dwells in us for when we pray we call out His name and His name is Jesus. I am not a Jehovah witness

but some of you who are J.Ws will pray: Jehovah God in the name of Jesus Amen.

    God Bless!

The answer is not all that difficult in spite of the smoke and mirrors that a lot of the other responders are trying to throw up.

In this case, the answer may be best given, not by what the Bible says, but by what it does not say.

Look at the Gospel according to John, chapter 20 verses 24 to 38:

Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!"

But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."

A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"

Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus denounced sin and was quick to correct anyone who had a misconception of God. But when Thomas calls Jesus "my God", Jesus does NOT contradict or correct him. This clearly indicates that Jesus is acknowledging that what Thomas said is true.

If Jesus was in error, then one must then call into question everything that Jesus taught and everything that the Bible states.

The trinity does not indicate that there are multiple gods or that Jesus is a god separate from God the Father. Jesus is (as is indicated in John chapter 1) God in the flesh.

Just as water can exist in solid, liquid or vapor form and still be water, so God can be in the role of God the Father (provider and creator), God the Son (savior and redeemer) and God the Holy Spirit (comforter and conscience).

True, the word "Trinity" is not mentioned in the Bible, but the concept is found throughout both testaments.

The best way to understand the Trinity is to remember that the titles "Father" and "Son" are not representative of a hereditary relationship, but of a spiritual one just as the patriots of the American Revelation were called the "Sons of Liberty". God the Father is so called because the role He plays in that capacity is the role of creator, builder, designer, provider, protector, etc. and are roles generally associated with a father. The son is usually thought of as an extension of the father's line and will, one who is entrusted with the father's power and authority.

Just as you can be daughter to your parents, mother to your children and wife to your husband all at the same time, so God can be Father, Son and Holy Spirit all at the same time. The only difference is that God can also be all these things in different places all at the same time. Remember, God the Father dwells in Heaven, a place outside of time and space. He can see and influence all places and all times at his whim.

    Jehovah Witnesses

    Philippians 2:2-8

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance of a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-even death on a cross.------

What exactly do you think the "being in very nature God" means?

    Jesus Christ is God

Your eternal soul depends on believing this, one of several non-negotiable doctrines. We are saved from the dominion of death (darkness) by believing in the Truth (light). Read many verses to prove this claim. I hope you see that we can’t have two answers to a question.

A good reference to ease inquiry would be a Topical Bible of a historically, lexically correct version. Look up Jesus the Christ.

There are some unapproved versions of the Bible that exist either/or/both add to, take away from, change lexically, historically correct translations. The Bible is consistent with itself. You will not find it defining opposing views. For example, one unrecognized version, The New World Translation used by Jehovah’s Witnesses changes scripture – but not consistenly. I’m familiar with John 1:1-5. I will compare the New American Standard Bible with it.

Jesus is the mediator, we only have access to the Father through the Son.

And as far as the Son being God, this is clearly taught in one of the many parts of the Bible that you, as a JW, choose to ignore at the prompting of the WTS.

Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Isaiah makes it VERY clear; we know that the Father never became "a child," nor "a son," but he declares that "the son," is "mighty God."

@ Line Dancer: "a 'piece' of God" Your mathematicla ignorance of infinity never fails to amaze me. Every time a JW gets an education (which the WTS discourages), they leave!

Actually, according to the trinity, Jesus is only a piece of God, being God the Son, the second person of the so-called three-person godhead. Strangely, when you ask a trinity believer who God is, they say Jesus. They don't know what to believe. The Bible is much more simple. It say Jehovah is God. (Ps. 91:1, 2) Jesus is the Son of God. (John 10:36) And the holy spirit is the power of God. (Gen. 1:2)

The Father + The Son + The Holly Spirit = GOD when you speak of God you are talking about all three and not only one person.

( As a school = children) The Church = the people. The family is one = from many that belong to it.

    to JaQueeta:

If they are all the same, and one is meaner than the other, does that mean that they have split personalities yet they are the same? Talk about Bi-polar disorder.

If Jehovah and Jesus are the same then explain this quote spoken by Jesus Christ himself:

(Matthew 24:36) “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.

The Son we all know as Jesus.

    The Father as Jehovah.

Then why is the Son limited to knowledge while the father knows that day and hour, IF THEY ARE BOTH ONE AND THE SAME?
