If I were you I would buy the clear blue easy fertility monitor. My husband and I ttc for 2 1/2 years before I finally got pregnant. I wasn't having any fertility problems (went to a dr) so I used the monitor and got pregnant the first month using it. It would benefit you too because you're irregular and it tells you EXACTLY when you're fertile and ovulate. They are about $150 new but you can get them on ebay cheaper. That's what I did and only paid $50.. They are worth whatever you pay though! Good luck!

if your irregular they should've done at least a blood test. I'm also irregular since i was in about the 9th grade and they didn't do anything for me until i expressed concern about having kids then they did blood test for my thyroid and diabetes all was fine but they have no idea why i dont ovulate like i'm supposed to. so they put me on provera to see if i've ever ovulated before then from there i'm on provera again and i'll start my first round of clomid in a few days. So i suggest that you tell you doctor that you are really worried about your irregular periods and that you want tests done to see if you have any physical problems yourself it could be nothing but it never hurts to know. and also depending on the length of time you've been trying they might not even suggest fertility drugs yet!! they say at least a year i believe so if you want help make a little lie!!! you can also try charting you BBT to see if your even ovulating at all if you go to fertilityfriend.com it can teach you about it and help you with signs of ovulation. and you can print our own chart at http://www.idreamofbaby.com/fertility.php#a6.

use this ovulation calculator http://happybub.com/component/option,com_womancale... it works from your LMP and on your cycle length and shows you all the days you should be trying for your baby.
Good luck, baby dust
And remember to make love and not just try for a baby as it will make you more relaxed
