Should troll's here be sued?

Under many international, national(US) and various state law's their is room for harassment and slander lawsuits(we all know many of the feminist's and other trolls that harass those who oppose female supremacy often lie through their teeth and commit gross slander against those who dare speak up).

Since yahoo refuses to machine and IP ban these stalkers, is legal action through the courts the only way forward?

And who would commit to such an endeavor if actions where taken in earnest?

Update:

The Man, re-read. Slowly.

I am talking about the trolls that keep coming up with questions like these: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AlI4D...

Having their account deleted does nothing, perhaps I do not understand these pathetic people, but when everything is said and done their harassment is uncalled for.

Update 2:

I am actually very serious, I have enough money for consulting fees and initial fees but long term support of a legal case would be problematic.

I think the biggest prohibition against it is not wanting to upset Yahoo.inc, as their services are generally useful and I have a somewhat positive attitude towards them.

Update 3:

Re-read slowly: "other trolls that harass those who oppose female supremacy often lie through their teeth and commit gross slander against those who dare speak up"

Troll's commit slander against those who OPPOSE female supremacy.

"Often lie though their teeth", who does that? Trolls.

Now what is the point of this question?: Should trolls who harass and make slanderous statements about those that oppose feminism be sued?

I am sorry to have to treat you like this in such a manner but you completely misread the question.

Update 4:

Blue B, I have been here for years, find three questions where my answer supported male supremacy. I dare you.

Yes. Of course. You Americans seem to sue for everything. Sheesh.

Slander is speech. It also has to be done behind one's back, and you have to have witnesses, and one more thing that I will get to in a few sentences. You mean libel. Libel (and slander) generally is handled in small claims court with a limit of $3000 in damages. The problem is that in libel and slander you have to PROVE that damage was done. In other words, there is no case for libel here.

Even if any of this here could be covered under international or federal laws, not a judge in the country would touch it, and you can't prosecute foreign citizens. There was a law passed in, I think, 2000, that made it illegal to post insults while being anonymous. That law is sitting gathering dust because no court would ever use it, because then it opens up millions of frivolous lawsuits and persecution of people, etc.

You can't IP ban anyone ever. It is so ridiculously easy to circumvent that no one should ever threaten that, because they just look like a retard when they do. You just need to use one of the tens of thousands of internet proxy servers, or get a list of proxies, or use a anonymizing proxy client.

The simplest way to get around a machine ban is to just boot up a different OS.

I hate when people throw around the word, "stalker" perhaps more than the abuse of "creepy." The only way stalker laws could be used on Y!A is if someone posed as a woman and gave out her personal information with the intention of causing harm done to her, or if a stalker was purposely visiting this site and any others that a woman visits regularly. I say "woman" because those laws are for women but not for men-- so much for equal protection under the law, huh?

Even death threats couldn't be prosecuted, nor would charges be pressed UNLESS the threat could be taken as legitimate, i.e., the person threatening death knew where the person lived and could possibly even get there. Flame wars are not something that can get you arrested unless you post the intended targets home address and say you are going there to kill them.

You know the only way these fools can get someone to agree is to have more than one profile. And hey, I'd say a woman that is a neurosurgeon is superior. But you may know something she doesn't and that makes you superior in that subject. it all pans out. I don't worry about it. Would you like to be like you know who with the suit and shi* eatin' grin..what's that brown stuff on his chin man. Can you sue a psycho.

I think that's going to the extreme. I would rather have feminists in real life who are in a position of power be sued for damages.

I guess. I was hoping for criminal action actually. Isn't there a way to have these perverts locked up before they do REAL damage? Just sayin . . .
