If child support was ever outlawed?

Would people who received any amount of child support be forced to pay it back(if child support was found to be a form of slavery and illegal)?

And could that also explain the gender divide?

Update:

Ah first instance of the gender divide on this issue.

Update 2:

My own beliefs is that it is up to the parents to take care of a child, but that doesn't mean I support slavery. Society should encourage men and women to be financially responsible, but ultimately slavery is wrong. It is unjustifiable. And if a parent is a deadbeat then it is the other parents fault for procreating with such an irresponsible person.

Update 3:

Does it benefit a child to be raised in an immoral society? What other horrors do you suggest be done for the benefit of children? At this point a well regulated welfare system is better than a child support system, because at-least with a welfare system you can be pretty sure that the child actually receives the assistance.

Child support is nothing more than back-door alimony and reduces children and men to the status of human ATM machines.

I would rather a child be with a parent because the parent is financially responsible and genuinely cares about the child, then the child be placed by the courts so the state doesn't have to support lazy adults.

It would never be found to be that way, child support is for your child, you should support your child. Just because you divorce or separate from your partner doesn't mean you do so from your children.

If it was outlawed then the child would suffer and in cases of divorce and separation when the child has already been born, the child will be the one going without. In cases where the child has not yet been born, abortion would be considered a lot more since women would be even less able to afford a surprise baby without support. Child benefit- which you get here in the UK- only goes so far but there are plenty more people getting that then there are those getting child support.

Once again, a child support question that completely ignores the needs of the child.

I don't get it. Why do so many people see child support as a punishment? Child support is for the CHILD - to feed and clothe him/her. It's not some moral conspiracy to punish a person for unwittingly making a baby. The church does a good enough job of that.

    Special addition for THE MAN:

You wanna know what should be illegal???? Letting a woman get away with allowing herself to get pregnant without a man's knowlegde or consent -- should be illegal.

    >>>> Aw, come on, now....if you are old enough to have sex, you are old enough to know the consequences. Men need to be proactive and protect themselves from unwanted pregnancy. You have the technology - it's called using a condom or being creative with your sexual gratification.

Cheating Military wives should be charged with high treason.

    >>>But the military man is ENTITLED to cheat on his wife? Please.

Paternity Fraud - should be illegal

    >>>>Yes. Yes it should.

False rape accusations should be as illegal as rape itself.

    >>>> You mean it isn't? What about a civil suit? If it happened to my son I know I would hire a good lawyer to take the lying B***H down.

And boy, they sure work hard to devide the genders wouldn't you say?

    >>>> And so do you, user called "THE MAN." So do you.

This is a typical male question. Child support is for the child. The child would suffer if it was outlawed. No where in the question do you bring up the child. It's why we have such mother-favored laws to begin with. Men don't care about anyone but themselves.

It would be enough to eliminate welfare for families that continue to grow while on the dole. The most shocking cases of paternity fraud are committed by the welfare system.

LEts not talk about that. That would be a nightmare All the deadbeat mommies and daddies already running around out there.
