Should I put my cats down?

My cats are 8 and 9. I'm going to have to leave my emotionally abusive situation and I doubt I'll be able to find a place I can keep them. I've had them both since they were kittens. Is it kinder to just put them down or to lock them in a cage at the SPCA even though it will be unlikely they will get adopted at their age? One of them isn't friendly at all with strangers and the other is quite obese.

It's really sad, but I think it would be better to put them down. If you honestly are unable to take care of them anymore, at their age and personality, you're right. It's unlikely that they will be adopted. Thus, you should probably just put them down instead of making them suffer in an adoption center. I'm sorry, and I hope this helps!

In my opinion, there is no reason for them to be euthanized. If you give them to the SPCA, they have a good chance to being adopted. Believe it or not, a lot of people look for an older cat because they don't have the time or patience to train one. Personally, I would try to find a place to keep the cats either with me or at a friends house for a short amount of time.

Please don't! Your cats are only middle aged and I think you should try as hard as humanly possible to find them another home ~~period-- try to find a no kill shelter or rescue to take them in. I don't like Craigslist because a lot of people who take free animals there are predators who torture animals use them as bait to get dogs to fight feed snakes to name a few but if you do list them anywhere PLEASE screen the people carefully Please love your cats enough to find a new place for them you got them and you are responsible for them HOW could you put them down if they are healthy I find it hard enough to do when they are ill.and I would adopt a cat that was middle aged so don't think there are no people who would want to--Maybe an older person would want an older cat so that it maybe won't be as playful as a kitten more calm and serene--Think about it

Take them to a no-kill shelter. Look a few up on the Internet, call and explain the urgency of the situation.

Put them in their kennels and go; get out of your situation. They will be well taken care of at a NO KILL shelter.

Please don't put them down, they will find another home, or once you find another home, you can re-adopt them.

i don't think that you should put them down.

that is taking away a life, and you should not do that unless they are in extreme pain, or have no chance of surviving.

they'll treat them nice at a shelter.

someone will most likely adopt them.

i refuse to adopt kittens, and puppies.

i will only adopt the oldest animals, because "noone wants them".

there has to be someone else out there like me.

    have hope.

and try to take them with you!

you don't HAVE to give them up.

it is unquestionably disgusting! in the event that they knew what she replaced into coming in for she don't have had to attend very long-our vet got here to the domicile for our cat and we taken care of out the charge later. For rabbits i replaced into taken care of very compassionately and further by using to a private room till i replaced into composed sufficient to go away-I went to the table to pay and the receptionist pronounced "only pass-you will pay next time you're in". the cat ought to have been sedated first so there is not any way it is going to have been screeching-a good vet will constantly attempt and make the journey as bearable as is achieveable. you need to ***** and record it to the State Veterinary scientific Board (united states) , the RCVS in case you're in the united kingdom, or the equivalent for the rustic you reside in.

there is nothing kind about killing a perfectly healthy animal. find a no kill shelter where the cats have tons of attention and a high chance of adoption. i know this is hard for all of you, giving up a pet is always difficult but don't end its life.

Personally I think you should ask around and see if anyone you know would take care of them for you. Because putting down a living creature that is not sick or about to die anyway is animal cruelty.

NO........first try to find a place the accepts pets, if that fails try to find them a home....these little ones can live to 22 years of age.....the hick up in your life is temporary
