Is there something cheaper then Frontline Plus that still works for killing fleas and ticks?

I have one indoor cat and dog and one outside dog. I have heard that's the best, but it's so expensive! If that's the only thing that works, I'll buy it. But I don't have much money right now, so anything less expensive would be alright IF IT WORKS! Please let me know. Thanks!

Update:

I mean I have an outdoor cat not dog, not that that really makes a difference, but anyways!

Update 2:

Thanks! I know that you have to get different stuff for cats then for dogs. I will keep everything in mind!

What I do is buy my frontline over the internet much cheaper -- bargain shop! Don't buy frontline plus -- my vet says it means "plus more money" and is no more effective than regular frontline.

Then what I do is apply frontline only every 2-3 months during flea season only. We don't have bad tick infestations here. For ticks it needs every month, but it's effective for fleas for 3 months.

Make if more effective by not washing your dog for 3 days before application and 3 days after.

    I don't know anything about cats -- I don't comment there.

My friend's dog has to be on K9 Advantix cuz she's allergic to Frontline. It works pretty good, I don't know how much cheaper it is.

Revolution for cats works well. Again, I don't know how much cheaper it is.

I have always had good luck with Frontline Plus.

The frontline for dogs is toxic to cats, you need to get two separate doses.

Price shop your different vet clinics--just phone and ask how much a dose is. Our vets charge anywhere from $12 to $25 for the identical item, depending on who is selling it.

Frontline works the best, but honestly I do not buy the stuff through my vet, because ya...it's way too expensive that way. Honestly amazon is your best bet. It's cheaper then the vet and shipping is free

You can spend less on flea treatments but they usually have negative side effects. The majority of problems are with over the counter products. The side effects range from skin irritations to seizures and even death. I know the cost is high but play it safe and use the ones vets recommend.Shop around on the internet you can usually find deals on the name brands
