We can clearly see the judgment. Mercy, was given in that He allowed Lot and Abraham's family to live. He gave both families land and provision.

God knew the sins that Lot's daughters would commit (Getting Lot drunk and having sex with their father in order to become pregnant) after the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, yet He allowed them to live and create another nation (Moab).

He knew the lies that Abraham would tell, yet He considered Abraham to be His best friend (due to Abraham's faith)

If you read the story, you will see many ways that God's mercy endured. You can clearly see the justice.

The people of Sodom and Gomorrah were creating an exceptionally evil nation. Since those people would not repent, God had to put a stop to the madness. The giants refer to a mixed breed of people which most belief to be half human and half angelic/demonic.

    Study the book of Genesis.

The Natural occurances did look bad when the Almighty Righteous Judge of the Spirits of all flesh showed a small display of His righteous severity.....

even so....Jesus assured us that we have yet to see the "TOLERABLENESS and MERCY" that is yet to be showed in the DAY of Final JUDGEMENT.

What was allowed to come upon them in the temporal realm of the earthly existence, was so that He could also bring forth righteousness and justice, holy chastening which will result in assured MERCIES on the day of judgement as seen here.....

"Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city*." Matthew 10:15

    * That City that Jesus was talking about was the Lost sheep of the house of Israel, IF they REJECT the WITNESS and True words and signs and wonders of the Power of the Living Christ, the Son of the most high God.

(6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

    .

Likewise it was also said of Tyre and Sidon.....these very words are PROOF that there is a resurrection and PAYDAY is when TRUE JUDGEMENT WILL BE PASSED OUT without partiality....Mercy will BE to tose who love mercy and show mercy to their fellow man daily.

Matthew 11:22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

James 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath showed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

Mercy - He allowed Lot and his family to flee. In addition, He allowed Moses to bargain with Him in order to save the people of S&G. The conversation between God and Moses was Moses repeatedly requesting that God not destroy the cities if there were __ godly men there. Moses then kept lowering the number and God kept agreeing to it - I think to the number of 10 honest men.

Unfortunately, there weren't 10 good men.

Judgment: he killed everyone - gay or straight. Kids or old people. Pregnant women? All dead.

Mercy: Some people got turned into salt (Lot's wife). Who wouldn't want to spend eternity as seasoning?
