Jelous kitty or weird behavior?

So my daddy cat is past the point of wanting to hurt our kittens. He likes them and plays with them, very gently (weird?). He's 'my boy' very mama attached. Recently when he sees me playing with them he lays on all the toys so they can't play with them? Or I can't play with them? He also is at my feet 24/7. I can't even take a shower without him investigating. He never did that before. What is he jelous of the shower now to? He's still sort of a baby not even a year old. I never had a boy kitty before and my last female wasn't this weird, she would just ignore me and stuff.

Update:

I do my best to spend as much time with him as possible. Enless one of the kittens sneak into my bed he's my one and only snuggle buddy. The kittens sleep in my room to but they all sleep on the floor. I tried havin a slumber party but they are cats and do what they want lol. He knows he's mamas baby, he's such a snuggle monkey!!! Rip my fluf muffins but she wasn't a snuggler. Someone told me once he's fixed he will be an even bigger baby lol. Also I don't know what's the deal with my cat but he's like 3x the size of a regular house cat, big big boy lol. He never liked they toys before, brat lol.

Male cats seem to attach more to a person, have more personality and do get jealous or need more attention than female cats, I think. I have 4 cats, 3 females and one male. Not that the girls are not affectionate, they are but the male is much "needier".

Classic example, if I do not take time at least once a day, sit down and spend 5-10 minutes with him solely, he gets all bent out of shape. And God forbid, I come home and don't "properly" greet him! LOL

He's jealous of the attention you give the kittens and has some concept of that his toys belong to HIM. He's feeling needy and needs reassured that Mama still loves him best. And he will probably always be a Mama's boy. Our big guy loves everyone but he's gotta get his share of undivided attention every day from Mom.

And if you see any parallels between male cat behavior and human male behavior, well, it's not just coincidence.......<G>

i think its normal. he just wants attention. my cat had kittens and our other cat loved them. he tried to feed them like mommy did and loved to babysit. he did get jealous when anyone would play with them and will roll over in front of them so i can rub his belly. i think male cats are just attention hogs and love to be in the middle of everything.

I think he just loves you very much, possibly thinks of you as his mother/companion. Also he seems to be jealous of the kittens. Just show him as much affection as you show to the kittens and it will be okay.

He is trying to tell you that he wants his own credit card so he can order premium cat food on line.
