Why is our president so idle on the oil spill?
he says he is such an enviromental helper yet with the resources of our government at his disposal he has done nothing but demand more money from the violaters rather than doing someting useful, goes to show to him it is all about money and power rather than actually doing anything helpful or beneficial for world. All he cares about is what does he get out of it.
The hypocrisy of his actions compared to his stated goals and beliefs is blatant yet people still blindly support this run of the mill, money and power hungry politician.

If you care so much, how about YOU take time off from your job, or if you're unemployed, the unemployment office, and drive down there to help out? There's only so much the man can do. He's not a seaman, doesn't know how to do construction so he can't really help out with the cap they'll be putting on the main leak this week. I mean at most, he could go down there and help clean up the oil on the beaches or wash the oil off of affected wildlife. We've got National Guardsmen erecting barriers along the coastlines, and Obama is holding BP responsible for this mess they've created.
Jesus. It's not like we saw Bush helping out law enforcement by patrolling New Orleans with an assault rifle, or doling out bottles of water and food. He drove around and hugged people, freed up funds and issued orders. Presidents are like the CEOs of a large company. They tell others what to do, and how much money is allotted for spending, and will occasionally show up for a photo-op.

I guess you think he should be out there with a teaspoon scooping it up himself. Would you like him to respond personally to all of the 14,000 oil spills that happen every year? http://www.greenenvironmentnews.com/emergency_resp... Meanwhile, here is a timeline of the governmental response to the spill starting with April 20. http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/05/05/ongoing-...
Tell me, were you just as critical at Bush's response to Katrina, an event for which there was ample warning?
If not, then you're the hypocrite.

What?!?! allow "Big Government" to "Take over" the oil spill? What wil the Tea Party think? Should we leave this in the capable hands of private industry? Drill baby drill!

He wants this to be an awful, terrible environmental disaster so that he can use it as an excuse for ending ALL American drilling.

This is the perfect excuse to stop ALL drilling. Wait and see.
