ive just taken my neigbours cat to the vets?
hi ive had this tiny cat coming into my house for days, its very tiny and cleary has a very bad worm problem, it is skin and bones, well i took her to the vets this morning, she weighs 2kilos, they have given her half a wormer and flead her also cleaned her ears out, i think this cat lives about 8 doors down, that is where i have seen the cat outside in the front garden, or not, the cat may not live there im just assuming it does cause they have lots of cats. the vet said the cat is quite old but clearly hasnt had a vet visit for a long time. and needs to put some weight on, which it should do when the worms have gone, and its getting regular meals. do i tell them and risk getting into a confrontation, or just keep feeding this little cat.

If the cat is in that condition, I'd consider it abandoned and just take it in as mine. When an 'owner' gives it no vet care, the cat that is loose outdoors is considered a stray and able to be adopted by anyone willing (as it also is going to be at risk for anyone to catch and take it to the pound or animal control, or to abuse).
At this point, I'd say the cat does not have an owner, it just hangs out in the neighborhood.

If this cat has worms there is a very, very good chance the other cats in the household have worms too. And any treatment you're getting for kitty will all be undone as soon as he/she goes back to the house.
I would do this:
• Keep the cat.
• Don't tell the house you have their cat. Don't mention it to anyone. Don't tell them you've seen the vet. It may be a stray that's being fed by the house. Keep all the paperwork from the vets and ask them to prepare a report about the cat's health and the condition it was brought in.
• Call the RSPCA (ensure the RSPCA in your area has a no-euthanasia policy, the RSPCA do sometimes destroy cats if they have no room for them) or another cat charity.
• Tell them that you know they have lots of cats and you fear for their well-being.
The RSPCA will then investigate and hopefully remove the cats from the house.
Well done you for taking the cat to the vets, there aren't many people like you in the world. You've done a great thing and I know the cute little kitty is very fortunate to have found you.

I think you ave another option here. I think you should report the owners to the RSPCA or equivalent. I think at the end of the day, you might keep feeding the cat and it might still cause confrontation with your neighbour, if you do nothing then obviously it is cruel for the cat, so i think the best thing you can do is let the authorities sort it out, then these cats will get the care that they need.

Just adopt the little guy, If they have so many and he is that malnourished they won't miss him anyway, Reporting them wouldn't help as they would most likely keep there favorites and get rid of the rest, while the few they keep will just multiply again.
If you are concerned about the cats and the owners dont seem agressive then if it where me I would go tell them a lie.
I would say that I worked with a local pet care center or something and see if they would like some help in finding good homes for the kittens.
Of course don't go to them and tell them they are neglecting the kittens as that would cause trouble, instead try to be friendly and act like your wanting to make a friend, then casually bring it up as you guys are talking, maybe even talk to them a few days before bringing it up so you don't look like your befriending them just to take there cats.
Something like "whoa that's alot of cats they must be frisky" would get them to talk about it without raising suspicion, then you would be able to tell if they seemed to want them or not from their reaction.
If they seem not to want them offer to take them away, if they seem to be a little fond then ask "as if for yourself" if they would be willing to part with one or two.

this cat could just be a stray and going to your neighbours to be fed, just as you are. If the cat needs to go back to the vets, ask them to scan the cat for a microchip which would identify the cats owners. What i would do is knock on your neighbours door and ask them if they own the cat, or knows who does. If they dont, then adopt the poor little mite. if they do then you can call RSPCA anonymously and report them for neglect.

this is a tough one, i think if it was me i would just keep feeding it, I dont think i would like to go and tell them you have took their cat to a vet i think they may get abit funny about it, hope all goes well x
