Tennessee is under water, has the...?

current occupant of the dry White House been any where near this disaster area? He has been on TV in the Gulf area where people will suffer ecconimically in the future making promises, but how about Tennessee where people have already lost everything? Any promises there. Has he even flown over Nashville on his way to the Gulf or is there no political advantage in the suffering in 'The Volunteer State'? This is a bipartisan question. Feel free to vent. Thank you in advance for the insults

Update:

Boz, great recitation of something you learned in a 7th grade civics class. But don't you think it might be nice if the President of the United States visited the scene where thousands of Americans have lost everything? Seems to me that would be the right thing to do. You have a good day now

Update 2:

Hank, Chuckles and thegubmint: I certainly sympathise with the sentiment but I have to say that the man should at least have stopped to visit even if it was only in a helicopter. He did miss a damned good photo op. Good luck to ya'll

This news is nowhere to be found in the MSM. I guess when Bush is not in office there is no bad news.

As a Tennessee resident, I would prefer that the President NOT come for a visit just yet. A presidential visit involves a lot of people and security, road blocks, motorcades, etc. We just can't handle that right now. What we need is for people who want a "photo op" to stay away. The President is being briefed on what has happened to us. We are receiving federal disaster declarations when we request them.

I hope those of you who are so opinionated about the government's handling of the Tennessee floods will make a donation to the Salvation Army or American Red Cross to help us out.

I don't like 0bama but just like Bush he is bound by the laws of the Incident Command System which says the Federal Government may not force itself on a state during a disaster. It's services must be requested by the Governor.

Incident Command is passed up the chain by request not down the chain.

This is what happened in Katrina when the mayor of N.O. did not request the services of the Governor in a timely manner and the Governor did not request the services of FEMA in a timely manner.

People who don't understand the Incident Command System have a habit of blaming the wrong people.

We'd just as soon he not grace our state with his presence. He did his part, making a disaster declaration. Unless he wants to shovel some mud, he should stay in D.C.

Tennessee really doesn't care if he makes an appearance or not.

No. Obama doesn't care about white people.
