If you don't have over 60,000 miles on it, just keep driving until you get to 80,000 miles and then change it. However, if you've ever run out of gas, you should change it because debris from the tank gets pumped up into the filter then. Here in the USA we have http://www.autozone.com/ that shows filter location and installation instructions for US vehicles. This assumes you have a gasoline rather than diesel engine. A diesel fuel filter requires maintenance more often.
