How energetic are boxer puppies/dogs ?
I am considering getting a Boxer pup because of their sweet, playful nature and they are great with children? I have read Boxers are very energetic and needs a lot of activity to keep from being bored/destructive. I have heard a couple of people say they know people who have given up their pup because of this. I haven't found many examples of them being "energetic" or "hyperactive". So my question is how hyperactive are they generally? Please share specific examples.
Thanks in advance.

First, Boxers are the best dogs ever! They can be hyper but a lot of it has to do with how they are trained and how they act in the littler. If you are able to observe the litter before you buy it would help to know what kind of energy level your dog will have. When I picked my boxer, I noticed that he would sit and observe the others playing a lot of the time, but when he wanted to play he would play. Also when I got him home I always made sure to only give him my attention when he was calm. He learned really quickly that being crazy would not get my attention. He is also fantastic with my kids. He was very easy to potty train and obedience train. I would defiantly crate train because it will save your furniture, carpet, and anything else he can destroy. Like all dogs they need exercise. Any dog can be a bad dog if not given enough excises. I had a mini dachshund that did more damage than all my previous dogs combined! Overall he is the best dog I have ever had and I will never own another breed.

well yes they are going to be actually any puppy is going to be for that matter they are puppies its what they do. Anyone who gives up there puppy, because the puppy is to energetic didn't due there homework about puppies. I have a boxer and she's very energetic and hyperactive and that's what I love about her. She is great with my 4 year old nephew and 3 year old niece. However they are notorious for knocking small children by accident over when they are playing. They can be destructive when they are board in the house after you leave and the boxer didn't get put up in is cage. They are also notorious for having a lot of flatulence. Now to answer your question about how they are energetic they never want to stop playing, and in there mind they think they still are puppies when they reach adults. They are also very smart and they are easy to train.

extremely hyper. What sites have you checked? AKC even has them listed as high energy.
They can be good with children if trained properly. Otherwise their bouncy nature and size could result in children being afraid of them.
I'm taking in my bf's boxer x pit because of her hyper nature. His parents are fed up with it.
I have had three previous boxers before her (purebred) and the energy level wasn't different. I remember on a slow day I let one of my dogs out to use the restroom while a sprinkler was going. Next thing I know the dog was soaked and the sprinkler DEAD.
