Question about cat with bladder infection?

a couple of weeks ago my cat had a bladder infection he was trying to pee all over the house ( I say trying because his urine volume was very little) then he started peeing blood I took him to the vet and he put him on antibiotics. His urine cleared up but he is still peeing all over the house. Any thoughts on why he is still doing this? Ive cleaned out his litter box and I just dont know what else to do?

Update:

Yes he is fixed. So will male cats still pee all over the house?

Did your vet do a urinalysis? male cats can get infections in their urine, but more often they actually have microscopic crystals that irritate the bladder lining and cause them to have urgency to urinate, frequent urination and bloody urine. If the crystals mix with mucus in there, they can form a plug and block the flow of urine which can be fatal in 24h or so. Another thing male cats get is called interstitial cystitis. It's where the bladder just becomes inflamed (but not infected) for no good reason and causes the same symptoms as a cat with crystals or an infection.

Make sure your vet gets a urine sample and analyzes it for crystals. If it's been at least 5 days since he finished the antibiotics, your vet can get a sterile urine sample and culture it, which will tell you definitively if there is a true bacterial infection. Treatment for crystals is usually with special food, not medication. Treatment for interstitial cystitis is often amitriptyline, an antidepressant, believe it or not.

i understand that's a stressful difficulty to handle, my mom went throughout the time of the comparable difficulty together with her male cat. keep him on the Purina!!!! that's strictly what she has fed Tigger and he's been UTI loose for 2 years now! you're able to desire to do slightly diagnosis on residing house treatments in tom cats, as they very much variety from canines and a few issues you provide canines can kill a cat in seconds. additionally, the only scientific care isn't an $1800 surgical treatment, any vet that tells you that's in basic terms finding for money and has no interest interior the animal. Your final bit, be sure he has a number of of sparkling water, you does no longer have faith the version this makes.

....I would think maybe a kidney problem, if he drinks a lot of water? My cat normely good, would run and pee all over the house, (sometimes bloody) after that Menu Foods recall. She got better after a while eating low protein food.

........I hope he gets better. Carl

i would advise you to put your cat on an all wet/canned food diet immediately as well as give them distilled water to drink in their water bowl and mix some of the distilled water with the canned food.this worked for my cat which had urinary tract problems.hope this helps .
