If evolution is true, why has everything suddenly stopped evolving?
You can see there is no change at all to humans in an evolution view anymore, we just stopped at our current state, same with animals, why is that evolutionists?
Classical...a rock isn't biological...
Bella a 1000 year period is false, back 2000 years ago to the time of jesus humans have been the same, and back to the ancient sumerians they are the same as now which is well over 5000 years ago, so we should have evolved into 5 different beings bella?
So if we are still evolving, what is there to improve? certainly being intelligent won't be added, nor the stopping of violence in humans minds be added either.
ehhh wrong again classical...DNA evolved, rocks don't have DNA, rocks just change because of water wearing them down and what not.
Some of you people seriously believe all life on earth is older than 25,000 years? LOL that's a laugh, besides theres no need for name calling this isn't 6th grade anymore people...
sharmaine please grow up and act mature or don't asnwer kthnxbai...hostility is the calling card of a weak intellect
sharmaine evolution is false, i said no life on earth is older than 25,000 years, your believing scientists that don't show proof, only skeletons...
People...humans are pretty stupid, your believing people that THINK they know the answer, i love how others are looking down on earth laughing at us because of our intelligence :)

Evolution is an enabler for atheism. Evolution gives atheists a basis for explaining how life exists apart from a Creator God. Evolution denies the need for a God to be involved in the universe. Evolution is the “creation theory” for the religion of atheism. According to the Bible, the choice is clear. We can believe the Word of our omnipotent and omniscient God, or we can believe the illogically biased, “scientific” explanations of fools.

!!!! You plainly don't understand what evolution IS. This process takes millions of years for you to see the difference!
''Some of you seriously believe that all life on Earth is older than 25000 years, thats a laugh'' I don't believe that - I KNOW IT. Scientists use scientific methods which are too complicated for your religious little head. They calculate the age of fossils, rocks etc. The rocks in the mid-ocean ridge have been tested [with radioactive elements, you know how it works] and they are as old as 250 million, give or take a few years, but all the same, many things have been proved to be MUCH older than 25,000. If the earth was 25000 yrs old only, there would have been no time for drastic evolution and we would still be autotrophs.
=== Ok smart guy. Don't listen. I don't care. I always knew that there is no use talking about something which the other person doesn't know about. I'll speak to you when you understand your year 9 science course.
''believing scientists'' scientists don't 'believe' until they have proof. And it is called understanding.
''they're just skeletons'' - that is the proof you need. For your information, living things have skeletons. if a skeleton was found, it means that a living things which has those type of bones died. Sheesh. So you don't accept BONES as proof that there were living things 1 million years ago?
haha you made me seriously ROFL. I have never laughed at peoples' intelligence before! :D

Spray some antiseptic on a surface. Most of the bacteria on that surface will die. A few had previously undergone a random mutation in their DNA which didn't kill them, but in fact gave them a resistance to the antiseptic. This is a very small number of bacteria mind you. The unharmed bacteria multiply rapidly, and the species has formed a new strain. This is evolution as Darwin defined it. BLAM.
Also, I'm sorry if you expected to observe evolution in a single lifetime without using a microscope. Evolution by process of natural selection is very slow for macroscopic creatures.
Our evolution is halted at the moment because our species is no longer in a Darwinian situation. Natural selection no longer applies to us because almost everyone survives, not just the fittest. Furthermore, our species lack the necessary genetic diversity for natural selection to have any effect, because the ice age removed so much diversity from our gene pool. This is basic biology.
Furthermore, we only evolve attributes that are necessary for our survival, and sometimes not at all. Right now, the human race isn't having any trouble doing that. Sure, we have our squabbles, our diseases, by try telling that to a Belgian Condor. You'll get no sympathy.

How silly, unrealistic and impatient!!
In general evolution happens so slowly that it cannot be watched.
The four letter code that constitutes the DNA of all living things changes over time; for example individual or several letters can be copied incorrectly [substitution], lost [deletion] or gained [insertion]. Such changes can lead to functional and structural changes in genes and proteins and ultimately to the formation of new species.
Insertions are much more common whilst deletions appear to be rare.
But there is evidence that mankind is evolving and leaving the religious behind!!!
Research has shown atheists have a higher intelligence than people with a strong religious faith. The difference is 5.8 points according to findings in developmental psychology!!!
More members of the "intellectual elite" considered themselves atheists than the national average.
Only 7 percent of members of the American National Academy of Sciences believed in God. Whilst only 3.3 percent believed in God in the UK’s Royal Society.
Several Gallup poll studies of the general population have shown that those with higher IQ’s tend not to believe in God."
Neuroscientists have conducted the most comprehensive brain mapping to date of the cognitive abilities measured by the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS), the most widely used intelligence test in the world.
The results show that the various factors that comprise a high or low IQ score
depend on particular regions of the brain.
The WAIS test is composed of four indices of intelligence, each consisting of several subtests, which together produce a full-scale IQ score. The four indices are the verbal comprehension index, which represents the ability to understand and to produce speech and use language; the perceptual organization index, which involves visual and spatial processing, such as the ability to perceive complex figures; the working memory index, which represents the ability to hold information temporarily in mind (similar to short-term memory); and the processing speed index.
With the exception of processing speed, which appears scattered throughout the brain, the lesion mapping showed that the other three cognitive indices really do depend on specific brain regions.
For example, lesions in the left frontal cortex were associated with lower scores on the verbal comprehension index; lesions in the left frontal and parietal cortex (located behind the frontal lobe) were associated with lower scores on the working memory index; and lesions in the right parietal cortex were associated with lower scores on the perceptual organization index.
The study also revealed a large amount of overlap in the brain regions responsible for verbal comprehension and working memory, which suggests that these two now-separate measures of cognitive ability may actually represent the same type of intelligence, at least as assessed using the WAIS.
It matters not if they are atheist because of this new type of intelligence or get it because they are atheist – it is a totally different and far more efficient process!!

Things like bacteria and viruses are still evolving. We have actually documented it in labs.
We see new animals every once in a while but evolution just doesn’t work that fast.
As for humans we are seeing de-evolution. Through, medicine we have lessened natural selection within our species. An example is how people with diabetes can now live to be a hundred where before they were lucky live for a few years after the diseases took full affect. Now that is passed on and more and more of us are getting it from our parents.
We aren’t seeing positive evolution in our species because we have changed natural selection.

look at one cell through a microscope , and make a determination of what is happening , a cell has hormonal messages to determine how the cell changes or copies itself , or breaks itself down . the theory of evolution is a hard one to work out based cell evolution , as a cell doesn't evolve the DNA to the copy of the cell does Evolve , but not to a greater evolution usually unless breeding causes this , but based on historic cases of DNA , the DNA and evolution on today the copies are different , historical finds on animals have found man , and animals similar to todays , but bigger . we are evolving backwards .. so this in mind the question is , why would the original evolution evolve forward to now evolve backward , evolution seems like a forward process .
how did the first cell last till it evolved to another , Evolution isn't a fast process , and cells and DNA of different things are similar but different , how did the same cells turn to different things , and with evolution what is the placement of the soul?
cells live in antiseptic , there are ecoli , salmonella , and bacillus ceraus and staphylococcus aureoles , it isn't based on evolution , it is based on resistance to the immune system , evolution suggests that aids and diseases and cell mutations are how things evolved , well how did they evolve forward to now evolve backward , the more credible look would be to see that evolution exists , but is more backward

So in the short period of human recorded history you expect to see evolution?
It happens over long long time scales.
But farmers and pet owners use evolution with human selection instead of natural selection to get all the different breeds.
You've seen a poodle right?
There's your proof
Just a tad over 25,000 years, yes. How exactly do you account for oil?
That makes me think you're joking.

God... this is one of those "Why are there still monkeys?" deals isn't it?
Who says we aren't evolving? We just don't wake up one day and go, "GASP!! I'M EVOLVING INTO CHARIZARD!!" It would be nothing extremely noticeable...
And there are these genes that can be turned on and off... and this is why we have bigger heads, and smaller jaws than monkeys, btw.
Edit: ... "Some of you people seriously believe all life on earth is older than 25,000 years? LOL " ....
I really don't know what to say... I guess your right. How could life be older than 25,000 years? ... I mean let's totally ignore fossils, and what not.

If you studied biology for 5 minutes you would see that your question is null and void. Evolution continues to happen to this day.
No one ever said it happened overnight, or in one generation. It continues through several generations, and becomes more apparent the longer you study a particular species.
We did not "stop at our current state." There are changes in height, in physiology, and I wonder if you've ever heard of the Appendix (the organ that we evolved away from needing and are phasing out, one generation at a time).
I suppose you think it's much more logical that a big invisible guy breathed on a pile of dirt and suddenly mankind appeared exactly the way he is today...

LOL You should delete this question but it makes you look DUMB!!
I'm in school and even I know that evolution takes place extremely slowly. It took us over 7 million years to go from Australopithecus Afarensis (the last common ancestor of humans and other apes) to homo sapiens. There will be no noticeable changes in 1000, 10,000 or even 100,000 years.. FOOL.

Isn't there any further change? You have to realise that evolution deals with LONG time spans.
Edit - Kurt has a good point as I well know - an attack of low back pain is agonising! And it's a result of humans not yet being fully evolved to walk on two legs instead of four.
