I have a low body temperature ... what do you think?
So I've always been told that normal adult body temperature is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, give or take a degree.
However, I've been taking my temperature every morning once I wake up for personal reasons. I've been doing this for 6 days now and my highest reading so far has been 95.4 degrees ... My lowest was 93.2 degrees ...
This got me wondering so I started taking it at random times throughout the day. Not much difference. I just took it now actually (9:30 PM) and it read 95.0 degrees.
I am using a basic digital thermometer and check the temperature orally. I do know that oral temperatures tend to 1 to 2 degrees below your real body temperature, but that still makes my readings below the "normal".
Is this maybe a slight hypothyroidism or something? (My hands and feet are cold most of the time...)
Or is this just a variation of normal?
And note I am careful to not have eaten anything hot or cold that could affect my mouth temperature as well as avoid taking it after any activities (like working out) that may also affect the reading.

A body temperature below 94.0 could be mild hypothermia.
Low body temperatures are far less serious than high body temperatures.
Cold hands and feet could perhaps be a hypothyroidism problem.

My temperature is normally below the range of 'normal'. I have been tested for all sorts of issues with none showing up. I have always had this and am now in mid 50s. the cold hands and feet and inability to handle cold weather is something to deal with but other than that I haven't found it to be any real problem. it does make hot days easy to enjoy :)
have it checked out though as can be such a huge number of possibilities including Stress ... worrying about your naturally low body temp.

Britter, I think your temperature is way too low. Make an appointment and get examined in person by a regular (primary) doctor.
Best of luck to you. :) :)
